Wahoo, maybe we have a Fox this year?

I'm getting excited!  Jut read Fox is joining Quin & Jack Hughes, Patrick Kane etc., on team USA at the World Championships!

Speaking of awards, we'd like to ask for everyone to send in their vote for GM of the Year.

Just PM a commish with your vote. Newer guys aren't required to take part, but can if they wish.

The Buffalo Sabres would like to propose a new award:

The Ryan Poehling Award for the player who finishes the season with the highest fantasy points per game.

Congrats Ryan!

This message was brought to you by #sustainability. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Poehling scored zero points in the league. Same as Brady Tkachuk.

Hey, if you're still a little upset we never signed him, be happy that negotiations for his salary this offseason are definitely doing very different numbers than if we had signed him last offseason.

But they will be a lot easier.

$3.750M @ 3 years. Done.

2016 - 2nd overall - 1st round exit

2017 - 3rd overall - 2nd round exit

2018 - 4th overall - 2nd round exit

2019 - 5th overall

It took 4 top 5 finishes, but the Rangers are finally in the Conference Finals! I thought for sure @D-Money was going to come back and win after the CAR/NYI series ended early. Good matchup.

The attention is turned to @inane's Panthers, meeting one former Puck champ after another.

Binnington & Acciari

vs

Foegele, Brown, Thornton, Karlsson, Vlasic, Edmondson, Clifton & maybe Bishop, Radil, Halak

It’s starting to look like I’m gonna lose this round by less than 30 points (the points that Mrazek should’ve gotten if he wasn’t injured).  Really sucks too that Tarasenko has been a ghost all round

Perhaps it's good you didn't have Mrazek, as you would've lost by 1 point! Happened to me twice, I wouldn't wish that on you.

After moving out Wheeler and other players in a rebuild I'm pretty lolilng that I'm in the conference finals. This is a wacky year. And if Binnington and the blues win with maybe one SO... Anything is possible.

Good luck!

Round 3 Matchups

Cup chances?

CGY ~ 0% (Meier against the world)

FLA ~ 0% (Binnington against the world)

NYR ~ 2% (rooting for SJS to make finals plus Pavelski or E. Karlsson injured plus CAR in finals with Mrazek as a goaltender; even then NYR chance to win is not a sure thing)

ARZ ~ 98% (stacked team with players from all four teams remaining)

Seems like the parade preparations in Arizona can start.

Hello, all! The goal of fantasy hockey is to create a fun, somewhat realistic, exaggeration of the sport we all know and love. The commissioner team has recently been discussing certain rule changes/additions to the league, and realized it is hard to decide on behalf of 31 individuals. We have come up with the idea to have the GM's be able to submit, and vote on potential changes/adjustments to the league. Our goal is to create a fun environment that best suites the majority, if not all of the members.

We encourage all GM's to either reply to this post, or PM the commissioner team an idea that would help create an exciting, well structured league. Whether it be fun and outlandish, or integral and will increase realism. We want to hear anything that the GM's would enjoy.

We will be taking suggestions starting now, until Saturday, March 2nd. The commissioner team is going to comb through any suggestions and do an internal vote on whether or not it would be viable to the current league setup (we do not want anything game breaking). We also plan on engaging with the GM who suggested it for more details and possible adjustments to make it work.

Following the deadline, a link to a survey will be posted in the thread for a week, for the GM's to vote on all of the potential changes.

Let us know what you would like to see!

Here are the rule changes that passed the vote, the others that were on the survey had <50% approval rate!

Team relocation: 56% Yes

Require teams to have two goalies at all times called up: 72% Yes

Allow teams to extend the rights of college players to avoid burning years off an ELC for nothing: 72% Yes

Reduce the max contract length to 5 years: 83% Yes

Increase OT goal scoring by +1pt: 78% Yes

The commissioner team is going to decide the smoothest ways to implement these changes, and there will be another post when they are made official.
