While you could be correct (and that would also likely mean our prospects are doing very well) you are most likely wrong. lol For example, we signed Wiercoch last year and he got sent to the minors; however, unlike Wiercoch, Schaller has a niche on this team, too much of a niche to be buried like that. He turned himself into a very hard guy to play against, and a pretty good fighter too. He clearly wanted an NHL career, and was willing to develop his game to fill a roll. He reminds me of Tanner Glass in that regard. 1

Unsurprisingly you are way off the mark yet again. 2

I suppose the option of deleting one's account and coming back with a new one to hide one's sordid history of uninformed opinion is always an option. 1

He does not have huge upside and his mobility and skill level may be issues at the NHL level. Also he had 10 more points last year than Gaunce has career points so please do tell how Gaunce has more upside at this time? 1 1

I see Schaller as one of those guys who recognized he was a fringe NHL player, at best, with his skills. So he added grit, determination, PK skills, shutdown skills, fighting, toughness, and being hard to play against to his basic skills. His improvements in these areas over the past 5 years made him an NHL player. I think if Gaunce added the same, he’d be better than Schaller. I’m hoping ?Gaunce realizes this, and over the next couple years does so. 1 1

Really a general rule of thumb, don't shove your fingers in someone else's mouth. Schaller is a good bottom 6 player. Happy with the signing, he'll shelter some of the younger kids with his aggressiveness and hard nosed style of play.

Where'd Luongo?
Schaller peaked last year on a great Bruins team, he will NEVER see those point totals again. He won't play more than 100 more NHL games. 1
