Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29

Biden's done it again.  Claimed he was VP during and met with the victim's families after the Parkland shootings.  Problem is, that happened last year...

At this rate he's going to give Dan Quayle a run for his money in the dumb things he says category.

I guess we should ask him to spell something easy.  Like, potato.

Yang showing some real emotion.

He's a good guy.

I don't think Yang has a chance of winning the nomination but after listening to him speak on multiple occasions, it would seem nuts not to offer him a cabinet position.

Crazy "socialist" Bernie Sanders.  What a bunch of crazy policies he pushes.

The US already have such programs in place.

For jobs, there are lots of jobs out there.  Either than education or technical qualification, anyone can apply for a job and can be judged based on merits, skills, etc... without race, orientation, or religion being used for discrimination.

For adequate wage and decent living... it all depends on the individual/family.  If a place to too expensive, move to a more affordable place.  Nobody should be given the right to live somewhere if it's beyond their means.  Heck, I wanna live in a mansion in Shaughnessy.... but I can't afford it, thus I don't live there.

A decent home... good idea, except it can backfire.  Rent control can be both a curse and a blessing.  Easy access to mortgage to those who would normally not qualify helped to lead the US into the sub-prime mortgage crisis/Great Recession.  In any case, much like the previous point.  If it makes more sense economically to move somewhere for a better life, maybe that is the right choice to make.

Medical Care... the US already spends like crazy in regards to Medicare/Medicaid... so something is fundamentally wrong with the spending part.

Welfare/EI/etc.... the US has some, but I do agree they can do better.  That being said... self-sufficiency and maybe asking for assistance from family should be the better way to go than hoping that government can bail you out.  Eg. Young couples and new families should be starting out living in their parents basements or something, share the expenses.... the young family save money towards purchasing a home and their parents maybe getting some "rent" and providing daycare.

Education, everyone in the US do have access to education.  K-12 is free.  Lots of options for post-secondary.  Those taking out loans to specialize in comp sci, business, engineering, medical aren't really complaining about student loans... it's usually those who probably shouldn't have been in an University (maybe they should have went into a trade) or with some random degree in Latin or something that are usually complaining.

I have this feeling that the Democrats will nominate someone more liberal like Warren.

Just like some Bernie bros didn’t vote for Clinton, conservative Democrats might return the favor in 2020.

Unless this parade of silly continues, Biden will win the nomination.  If he continues to damage himself, then the field is wide open.

I want to see Biden, Sanders and Warren on the same stage going after each other.

That should be entertaining.

The Democrats have to be careful on how much they bash one another.  If the eventual winner escapes too bloodied, they'll have a harder time beating Drumpf in the general election.

It's a problem with both parties when they run against their own.  I wonder if anyone will go after Biden's ever increasing gaffes next time they are all on stage together.

I can't imagine the Dems trusting Biden as the nominee, as he can't keep silent forever.  Trump won't quit talking/tweeting about whoever wins.  Maybe staying silent with all that crap going on is a good strategy, but I don't imagine anyone would follow that.  And as we know with Biden, it doesn't take much before he slips up.

If his lead holds, the only thing that could sway the nomination to another candidate would be the Democrat's super delegates.

I just don't see them setting their party on fire for Fauxcahontas and I'm positive they wouldn't do it for Bernie.

Unless things change with the batting order of the top candidates, they are stuck with Biden whether they like it or not.

Yeah, that makes sense.  Agree on your Warren and Bernie comment.

Sign of the times... slimy business means the good ones won't make it to the top, and we get left to vote for the dregs.

Not me.  No matter who gets nominated, my vote is going to a 3rd party candidate again.

I hear ya.  Maybe they aren't so slimy since they didn't have to claw their way "up" (in quotes, cuz how high can they go, without their own billions like Perot). But without personal knowledge, we likely never really know.  They aren't worth the effort for the big 2 candidates to attack (except Trump, I'm, sure he'd bash anyone in the race), and the media will likely only call out their gaffes (Aleppo?), from what I remember seeing.  Maybe as more new voters become truly independent we will see some progress, but I'm not hopeful.

I voted 3rd party last time. We'll see what happens this time.  It would feel a little better if both our votes counted more, but we both live in a Blue world so it is what it is
