As long as his teammates think he is the guy so be it.  This is getting to the point where I am fairly certain they will need to name a Captain for this season.  According to this thread all body parts point to Horvat.

Kind of misleading. Toews said nothing in regards to him becoming the captain. He simply said he respects him and likes him as a player.

True, but I think the assumption made is that if one of the more respected captains in recent league history says he admires a particular young player, it makes that player a good candidate to also be a team captain (something that just so happens to be a hot topic).

Still an assumption, but a fair one.

Bit of a reach to have the article title be "Toes (Toews) gives Bo the nod on captaincy" when he said nothing of it. He was asked who he admired and said Bo and complimented his game. He was also asked of Pettersson and seems to respect and admire him as well as a player.

This happens all the time in regular news stories as well.  Its because the writer is paid to write the story, and then the high and mighty copy editor decides on the titles of the stories.  So, especially for a story buried in a bigger paper like the Toronto Sun, where sports is only one section, and who has copy editors who may not even follow sports themselves, they think its their job  to 'jazz it up' with a more sensationalist title. They may not even spend any time reading it.

That's why people actually need to read the article (which in itself could be edited in a way to relay the sensationalist story as well) instead of just looking at the headline. In this case, there is no indication of the headline in the article aside from the writer/editor's reach.

He was asked who he admired (Bo), while being asked of Pettersson. Yeah the headline is a stretch but there is a huge difference there.
