“We wanted to be here on a Monday morning because that would cause the most disruption,” said organizer Jess Causby, 23, who is from Manchester, England, and is unemployed.

Why am I not surprised.

As Strome mention, trees love CO2.  But also The good news  we do have companies coming up with ways to capture carbon,  Shell quest

  Reveal hidden contents

and even local a company called Carbon engineering which is even backed by Bill Gates.

  Reveal hidden contents

Thanks, Forsberg.  Interesting stuff.

The one problem that immediately comes to mind is that these technologies are still an additional cost.  In one of the clips someone suggests that they could be paid for by a carbon tax.  And we've seen how that is playing out in Canada.

Ideally, we can come up with a profitable use for extracted carbon.  Then countries and companies would be falling over themselves to build as many plants as possible.

But these clips do point to the way, IMO, that we may be able to cope with the threat of climate change.   Thanks again for taking the time to find and post them.

Here's what I think the best solution is for our energy concerns...

Plant trees my friend

Do you honestly believe the "change the world tree huggers" will actually go out into the wilderness and plant trees?  That takes true effort, and is too much like real work.  Most of the tree hugger types I've met would never get their hands dirty.  "oh my we must save the planet!"  they shout in protest.  But are they truly willing to make the effort to start with themselves?  How about all the climate change tree huggers start by giving up their computers?  Leave CDC, because you know in your heart that computer technology, and idol use of the Internet, contributes to the plastics industry and creates added CO2.  Look at the factories that create the parts required for computers!  Look at the shipping and trucking of those parts and finished products.  That's it tree huggers.  Actually do something that is difficult and give up your computers!

Yes, humans are effecting climate change.  I'm not arguing that point.  To me, the science makes it a given.  Now the ball is in the tree hugger court.  Make the hard action, and give up your computers!

I don't block anyone.

Maybe you should lay off the bong..

That bong had better be glass too.  No plastics allowed for true tree huggers, right?  This topic has me really riled up.  Why are so many people so darned hypocritical RS?  They will shout and yell and protest, but are they truly willing to make the changes first?  Will they give up their phones, TV's, Computers, cars, and only buy things that are made (or grown) locally?  Will they use potato slices for bread?  Will they give up salt, chocolate, and coffee?  Will they make they own clothes from the wool they get from local sheep farmers?  Hypocrites I say.  These tree huggers should not be using computers, if they truly wanted to make a difference.

Ugh people are the worst aren’t they. There was this free love oxygen loving hippy with a sign saying something something left wing socialist libtard about wanting clean air but they were still breathing! lol I mean come on you hypocrite if you really want clean air you shouldn’t be breathing now should you.

And because this leftie air lover is still breathing I’m going to completely dismiss their entire argument cause I’m smart and argument good.

ok- keep using your time that way.

just don't criticize those who don't want to participate.

I'm more just criticizing the guys that have nothing better to do on a Monday than make other people's lives a little less enjoyable. Usually guys just sitting in a basement smoking pot waiting for the government to do something with the money they didn't help create.

what's wrong with basements/smoking pot?

should only people with a job have influence over government policy or be allowed to protest?

should people who make more money, then, have a greater influence over that policy? since they helped create more of the money, of course.

some people have better things to do with their time than spend 8-12 hours every 5/7 days at some location doing bs.
