Alflives
Nylander makes big dollars. And he’s soft.

But it would take much more than Tanev, the Leaves would probably want a now and a later piece, my guess would be Tanev + Podkolzin. For me thats a non-starter. I'd do Tanev and Lind tho. 6string
Nylander makes Goldobin look like an enforcer. Edited December 15, 2019 by 6string 1
hero11
Nylander is too soft. We have enough soft forwards with offensive potential that we don't play. Baertschi and goldobin are both a cheaper option of the same kind of player. Nylander is way overpaid imo.
morrissex95
Nylander won't fit under the cap
GB5
The Leafs signed Nylander to that albatros of a deal and they can go down in flames with it. I wouldn't touch it. 7 million with term is not worth it.
N7Nucks
People playing it off like they wouldn't do Nylander for Tanev are out to lunch. Lol. Cap wouldn't even allow it. If we could move Baer and/or Schaller I would easily do Nylander for Tanev straight up. I'd give Toronto a Christmas card and a Easter basket. He has 23 points (11 goals) in 33 games. Only 5 of which on the PP. Slap him on our PP and he could be closer to point per game. He'd be a huge shot in the arm for our second line that has one true top 6 player on it. Elias Pettersson
I'd rather have Kapanen at half the cap space. Nylander only has 3 more points than Tanner Pearson, it's not like he's lighting it up. For $7 million there are much better options out there. But cap wise Kapanen is the much better fit. We can easily fit him under the cap if we trade Tanev. I'd do Tanev and a prospect, maybe Kole Lind for Kapanen. The Leafs might bite.
