Popular Post Locke Lamora
Clearly moving towards more game situation related drills now. Podz and Miller continue to look great. The higher intensity and pace are challenging Dan (Klimo) a bit more today. Some bobbles and missed passes here and there. But the shot is still a beast. Given the situation with Hamonic I’ve been focusing on Schenn. He looks really solid and despite the hulking figure he looks like out there he more than seems able to keep up. And because everyone loves the bag skate talk Luke Schenn was a standout in that yesterday. Clearly he put in the work this offseason. 2 7

We are talking about a player that can barely stick in the AHL, bouncing back and forth between there and the ECHL for years. This is just about punishing Olli for the bag skate and sending a message that nothing is guaranteed for him. 2

I still have high expectations for him though, I think he turns it around. This is some tough love from Green. Juolevi got a 1 year show me contract and looked downright embarrassing on the bag skate. This is a big year for him. Who knows whether it was lack of conditioning or covid... My hope is that it was the latter and TG sees that and is bringing him along slowly.... I believe he got a 1 way contract and he will not clear waivers

Bag skate does mean something or they wouldn't make professional grown men do it. It shows how much a player worked in the offseason. I think anyone that has played high level sports know how important conditioning is. In the 80s, players came to training camp to get fit before season starts. Now players are expected to come in in shape and ready to go

Smashian Kassian
I like how Green is using Miller with Podkolzin to help him along. Maybe Pods starts in the top 6.
DS4quality
Not to discredit the bag skate, but I honestly never heard of it until Green came to the team. How many other teams use it, I'm having a hard time finding the Tampa Bay lightening bag skate to compare us to Stanley Cup champs... Bag skates don't build championships

Hoglander - Petey - Boeser (based on seeing Petan between these two yesterday) Pearson - Horvat - MacEwan/other Podkolzin - Miller - Garland My only issue here is Horvat getting stuck with the leftovers for wingers once again.

Bag skates don't build championships The way the Sedins talk about it, it is not just about fitness it is about establishing pacing. Learning what the max your body can do over 40S and get the timing for about what a shift should be.
