Was thinking the same thing. A lot of maybes, but 50 from mikheyev and 40 from Kuzmenko are real possibilities

Not a problem. COL will just have to trade Newhook and Byram to the Canucks for Miller.

To fill in for JT Canucks need to replace roughly a ppg. Kuzmenko would likely get powerplay 1 time if JT gets traded. He's good down low playmaking and has a decent shot, it makes sense. He's an unknown but if he's getting fed powerplay time it's fair to assume he picks up 15 and 15, at least. Ilya Mikheyev is a good player. He picked up 32 points last season in about 50 games. Safe to say he at least matches that. Another 30. Podkolzin and Hoglander should both see increases in their quality of play over last year. Not sure by how much, but I think it's fair to assume they could each pick up the slack to fill in another 20 or so points. These totals, in my opinion are pretty easy to obtain bench marks that would replace roughly 80 points with players we currently have in the lineup.

They came in guns a blazing and all they have done is trade hamonic and sign some UFA’s I don’t get it, Jim benning could have made that trade or signings They did way more than that! They fired and hired a new GM, 4 new AGM's, 3 assistant coaches, Medical staff, trainers, mascots and concession stand workers.... and then they made the big trade to dump Hamonic and sign UFA's. Goes to show where the priorities are. If I told my company employees that I'm going to make big changes, things will be better, the future is nothing but green grass and lemonade.... and then I turned around and hired an all new CEO, board of directors and management team and then did nothing to actually change my employees daily lives I would be removed with pitchforks.
D.B Cooper
Sounds like 7x7 for Kadri. JT can’t be too far from Nazim. Get on it JT. Edited August 18, 2022 by D.B Cooper

Players age out or become too expensive and are eventually replaced. Even heart and soul guys. It’s a natural progression. If JTM wants term, but also wants to win(!), in a simple assessment of our roster it’s obvious he has to come in under fair market value for us to do that. if not, then we have to be looking for complimentary longer term affordable pieces given our potential roster makeup in 2-3 years time. again, if someone claims they want to win with the team they are with, then they will find a happy medium between $ and term to make that a possibility. Avs have no cap and nothing we need and the Islanderrs unless both Dobson and Barzel are coming back in a much bigger deal, I have no interest in downgrading on JT. He wants to be here and he's our best player in his prime, Dobson is not gonna get prime pp time and is worse than Quinn in every facet and is not the D to play with him imo. We need a guy like Slavin or Seider for him and that ain't happening. I honestly don't see a scenario where we get fair value for JT. I think Garland or Hogs+ for Severson makes much more sense. 1 3

I understand where you’re coming from Deb. I feel for you too as you don’t want your unofficial husband, and a big part of our heart and soul, being traded out of town. that said, look at our team. Look at the upcoming contracts. Look at the age demo. If we are going to improve for the future both in terms of roster or cap finance, and if JTM truly wants to win with this team, he has to make a choice to help afford that. He has to decide what a favourable term and AAV is for both himself and what allows this team to continue to improve, compete and re-sign the talent that will guide the future (while invariably supporting JTM’s desire to win). It’s one or the other. He’s worth a huge raise but it can’t be at the cost of mortgaging the teams success and flexibility. we will finally have some cap relief after next season. That should be the beginning of prime time for both EP, QH and perhaps even Podz and Demko. Supporting that with long term, lateral pieces is where the big money should go to. Players on the rise, the cusp or having arrived at their ideal cohesive “prime”. unfortunately, if there can’t be a reasonable deal reached, it just doesn’t make sense to risk a heavy term contract on one older veteran player. The cap space is just too valuable to our future to be designated for a retirement contract. i guess you could look at it this way…if in the near future, when the team is in a better position to really compete for a cup run, would you want management to go out and sign an 8+ mill, 32/33 year old veteran free agent with ample term remaining, to slide into a top line role? I wouldn’t. I would be completely against that unless they were a bonafide superstar, and even then I’d be hesitant. This does nothing to reduce Miller's likely ask of $65m+/-. You're big on selling JT to others. Now suddenly he's "younger" (than) and better...which sells his case here, too. FTR, Kadri's ppg is almost identical to JT's last season. And you don't know his ask or his settling price. As he sees other options unfold, it factors in. You don't ask and just stay put....things evolve as the situation changes. You're hilarious ..... you can't say "he is or is not" or think/speak for him. Look, I'm well aware there's a very good possibility he goes elsewhere....but there's also a chance that he ends up staying and that's worth considering. Some feel it's written in the sand but it's not.

86Viking
my guess is NYI get JT+ something and Canucks receive Beauviller, Mayfield (extended) and Raty/20231st The hope is JT signs a 6yr deal worth 8.5-8.75m, unlikely but one can hope!
