Maybe now that Benning is gone, and a far more respected and competent general manager in Rutherford is here, Tryamkin will give it another shot.

It would be nice to see, but I can't see it after all thats happened. He doesn't have any real ties to Vancouver and is free to go anywhere who'll have him in the NHL.

I think he had a terrible agent mixed with our bad GM to waste a big opportunity for him.

He’s got another season left on his KHL contract beyond this year and Vancouver only own his rights until this summer.  The only way he comes over is if he buys out his own contract.  I don’t think it happens

He can be bought out of his contract in the KHL after this season.

I’ve posted this same screen shot regarding the KHL agreement in the Tryamkin thread.

If the Canucks were able to help Nik facilitate that ( roughly 750k buyout as a “signing bonus on books) it could guarantee his return to us.

I don’t think Diamond is the best agent for this player..  larionov,  yes please.

We can hope as, notwithstanding how many people here write him off as a useless player, he would be a great fit on our bottom pair and could move up as necessary.

Except that, by all accounts, isn’t what actually happened. Benning agreed to a fair contract as did Tryamkin then Benning told him he would have to wait until he cleared some cap or take less to get a deal done earlier. Tryamkin was burned by waiting the previous year by Benning and almost lost out on a khl contract as a result. It’s understandable he wouldn’t just take Benning’s word on anything. It’s also understandable he would choose a 2 year khl contract so he would be a UFA when it ended and he wouldn’t have to deal with the Canucks.

That’s a Benning hater’s view.

In reality, Tryamkin and his wife are more comfortable staying and playing in their hometown.

They used the Canucks offer as a negotiation tactic to get more in his KHL contract.

He had no intention of coming to Van.
It happens all the time between leagues.

Or you could go back and listen to what both Benning and Diamond said at the time.

You know, if facts are important to you.

Saying Tryamkin didn’t want to play anywhere but Russia has been completely debunked as the reason things fell apart. Benning’s terrible cap management was the actual reason.

Those who write him off as useless are woefully mistaken and thankfully aren’t running a team. He possesses a lot of talent for a big man.

His young wife wanted to be home, especially with her new child.  Tree is happy at home too.  Maybe Tree just doesn’t have the competitive spirit to play at the top level, while missing home?

This makes no sense. Once his contract is over, he can choose to stay in Russia or return to the NHL.

Being happy at home doesn’t equal not wanting to play in the nhl though. Maybe he was just tired of getting dicked around by Benning who kept running out of time to move cap to fit him in?

Tree is the one who left, and then announced the negative stuff about living here.  It’s hard to love home and family so much and then be away for so long.  Big talent, but just not the desire.  He’s not a guy I want here.  Too soft between the ears.

That was negotiation fluff.
If he wanted to be here, he wouldn’t have run away.
He didn’t like it here.  Big whoop.  NHL isn’t for everyone.
Lots of people prefer play in the KHL.

Confused Seth Meyers GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

Is this a Boeser thread or a Tryamkin thread?

This thread is dumb.
Boeser isn’t going anywhere.
You don’t trade young snipers who are part of the core and have grown up together.
They already proved losing solid teammate (Marky, Tanev) can hurt a young growing core.

Brock had a rough start.  Big whoop.  He is almost back on 30 goal pace.

Should we eject this thread from the back of a passenger jet over Oregon?
