Isn't the "4th. line" supposed to be banging and crashing ?  Who is this guy "Schenn" who is laying it on the line every game?  12 hits, yes - 12 hits.  And an assist to boot.  And a 0 +/- !  Is it possible to clone him ?

And, by the way, Boeser was directly responsible for the gwg by Toronto.  $6.65MM cap hit for 2 more years.  Oh dear........

The Canucks power play is pass/pass/pass  -  just like the Sedins but without their skill level.  Please go out and find a Sami Salo and a Christian Ehrhoff who could shoot the puck unlike the muffin that Quinn Hughes has.

Can you tell I'm frustrated..............................?

Being hard to play against wins games. Being soft as butter so you don’t get hurt helps you and not the team. Not a hater just hate loosing unlike softie Bo who has zero emotion. But he’ll get his payday and you’ll still be stuck holding his jock

These posts just keep getting worse and worse.

And by the way I’d prefer to trade Bo. :bored:

Yet the team keeps loosing. He’s the captain throw a damn hit.

What I really wanna know is how the hell did Ryan O’Reilly (Lady Bing winner) win the cup. Must have been all those hits he was throwing. And they made him Captain. What a loser. Am I right?

1/5 season and he is close to top of league in goals in a contract year during his peak physical years and everyone has his jock strap in their throats…

I like Horvat. I just don’t think he is leading this team. 10+ years of loosing and he still doesn’t know what it takes to win. Gives himself a pat on the back because he scored a goal in his home province but lost the game. He’ll make a few more millions and drag the team down that he plays for because he doesn’t want to sacrifice his body for the cup.

Trade Horvat now while he is “worth” more than he ever has.

What is it you think he's not doing as the leader of the team?

I'm sorry bro, but even Petey had 3 hits tonight, while fly by BO had zero.  Sure, he can score goals and take faceoffs, but his unwillingness to engage with the opposition and even throw one hit in 60 minutes is quite disturbing and shows a lack of passion.  He should take some lessons from Luke Schenn on how to be more physical out there.  The guy is 215 pounds for crying out loud.  Petey is 176 pounds with his equipment on...

Pretty much yes.  Hopefully our purgatory results in getting Connor Bedard...

My version of NHL Purgatory: not good enough to make the playoffs and not bad enough to draft a Bedard or a difference maker...

Good for Petey, I’m glad he has that in his game. Schenn too is a beast. It’s irrelevant though. Has nothing to do with anything really.  We can pretend that Horvat is the problem sure. But last I checked we haven’t been able to keep the puck out of our net. We can blame Horvat 0 hits for the loss though I guess

Yup major underachievement with the talent here. We should be a playoff team, not a dysfunctional laughing stock.

No the core is what it is. Basically Oil Change era Oilers. We have to stop pretending this team is a playoff team but in the last 5 years the team only made it during the Bubble (and if it wasn't for the bubble this team probably wouldn't have gone as far to begin with )

Nobody is blaming Horvat for the loss.  But at 215 pounds maybe he should take lessons from Luke Schenn on how to be more physical and intimidating out there so he can be a more complete player.  But I guess he's okay with just scoring goals and taking faceoffs, ultimately that will get him his 8x8 contract...

The Canucks stats reveal their biggest weakness - the PK! They are 10th in goals and 5th on the PP, but 30th in goals against and 32nd on the PK.

Everything ties into one fact - defending is always more tiring. It's true in all sports - players running around in their own zone get more tired and then what happens? They either allow a goal OR they get penalized.

How to stay out of the penalty box? Keep the puck in the offensive zone. It's a SIMPLE truth that they seemed to understand last year when they just kept shooting the puck into the offensive zone and not worrying if they made perfect passes to get in the zone. just get it in the zone and then make the other team chase - it is what ALL good teams do that win games.

For whatever reason ALL the Canucks D men hold onto the puck too long. Even when the D men are defending and get the puck back, they start trying some kind of extra move or change direction - which means they are STILL in their own zone. GET OUT OF THEIR ZONE! That idea should be tattooed on their foreheads - get it out of your own zone and forget about being fancy.

Every game when a team pushes back the Canucks go into a defensive panic and forget the truth that defending is more tiring and more risky! Ice it, toss it, pass it, but no matter what don't keep the puck in your own zone.

The problem is - can the Canuck's players change their mindset and stop going into a shell any time there is a push back.

15 games in and 67 games to go and it's looking like one of the worst seasons in Canucks history is in front of us. The odd thing is that we have a lot of players that could have been like the Sedin era and made a good team, but now it's more likely we've seen the last of this group of players together. ( and players know it )

To add to that Horvat is the only guy who can consistently win faceoffs at 50% and above. Looks like we are weak AF down the middle.

Lost faceoffs lead to possession, possession leads to zone time, zone time leads to tired legs…tired legs lead to….. you see where I’m goin with this? We cant win a f***ing draw unless Horvat is out there, we either need to end the Petey at C experiment because he is consistently at or below 40% in most games. Im sorry but he is better served on the wing where he can still play a 2 way game and has better puck distribution. If we cant win draws, we arent going to win games. End of story. Losing Horvat is going to be a massive setback if no one else can win a draw. Keep Miller and Petey together but put Miller as 1C and Horvat 2C. Miller has a better chance out muscling someone in the dot.

Yup: playoff fodder or the Purgatory Cup.  Basically, the Cup drought continues under, Aquaman.

He’s never been a hitter why would he start now? It’s never been in his game so I don’t understand the point? As I’ve already pointed out Ryan O’Reilly plays a similar style. Yes a more rounded player defensively but also around the same weight. I don’t understand the concept at all. Horvat will be traded bro. Miller already scooped the contract
