A win and we are up there with the phlegms and coilers

who woulda thought

Last season, they started to turn things around in Dec. This season, in late Nov, we hope.  Maybe it will be enough games left for them to sneak in.  Playing meaningless games for 3/4 of the season will be awful.

We need great goaltending to win. This success of this season is reliant on that. Especially when we've improved other weaker aspects of our game. Namely playing better as a team defensively.

We have the offense. Our D can get it done if everyone's responsible, giving 100% for a full 60 minutes, and our forwards are getting back to shoulder some D-load. We saw it against Vegas last night.

It's taken 20 games for everyone on the team to shoulder the shortcomings as a team. Hopefully Demko can regain his form sooner than later.

Worried there'll be a big let down after huge wins in Colorado and Vegas, Demko is going to have to fight through his struggles and he'll have to do so with a tired team in front of him. We need these "easy" 2 points desperately, it would take us to within 1 point of a playoff spot which I don't think we've been near for months.

Top PP against top PK, this will be interesting.

Good comment. And it is right to put "easy" in quotes as there as no easy games in the NHL, especially on the second game of back-to-backs and especially for a team that is still below 500 with a struggling goaltender.

In a perverse sort of way this game puts even more pressure on Demko as he is expected to do well against a relatively weak team.

The games against Vegas and Colorado could be a turning point, but the Canucks need to keep things going today.

Bruce has finally found the lines and D combinations that seem to work best. It took him a long time to get their as a lot of people on CDC have been advocating these combinations for most of the season (Burroughs in place of Stillman, break up OEL and Myers, play Hogz in the top 6, player Miller with Horvat, etc.)
