Why are Dries/Lockwood/Garland a line?  wtf

This is going to be even more disastrous as Miller/Garland/Dries

They put all their eggs in one basket hoping we could go with Pettersson/Miller/Horvat down the middle that they didn’t have a backup plan.

Now it looks like we have no depth.

THIS is the level of accountability we need to set a real culture. No wonder ours is sooo trash. No matter how bad you are defensively we just keep gifting massive contracts and all the prime icetime.

They have a yearly playoff team, added 4x the amount of youth over the last couple years as us AND have even more dead cap then we do. No excuse for us

Quite a feet to seemingly built up our center depth only to have it evaporate.  We love turning centers into wingers.

I'd be more excited for this team if we were tanking this season.   Hard to watch the middling stuff.

A veteran NHL coach would have never picked Baumgartner to handle such an important role.

The first mistake was promoting a coach with zero NHL experience. If they don’t realize cheaping out on coaches will cost them more in the long run I don’t know what to say.

Given Colliton’s lack of success in Chicago, and recent success with Abbotsford, how would you feel about him being named interim head coach for the rest of the season?

It’s really just that 3C we’re lacking. Our winger depth is in Abby, lol.

I ended up getting season tickets thinking this year was going to be better than last year. I suppose it’ll be a treat to watch Makar and Co.

i'm sure they'll be good moments. When you don't care about the score you can watch players move without the puck for whole shifts. I did that with jack hughes last year (njd@wash) and it was great, talented player

No, but if you got 3-4 guys who aren't food 'fits' for that type of system - good luck getting rid of those guys.  The management group has said for over a year now they've been trying to 'change the mix' of the roster and could do absolutely NOTHING meaningful because of the financial climate of the league right now - do we think we're going to be able to do that with several guys because they don't fit with the new coach's system?

Admittedly we're in a tough situation right now.

Hire a new guy like Trotz (or whomever) and spend 2 or 3 years getting rid of guys and/or waiting out their bad contracts - that's not good for the franchise.

Sell absolutely low (or worse, add to get rid of guys) - that's also not good for the franchise either.

Either way, we are YEARS away from being a good team despite what management and/or several optimistic posters are telling us.

This is exactly why we should have been acquiring picks and prospects during this period of non-compete, in addition to key players like competent defensemen and a 3C. We'd be so much further ahead when the time comes.
