hockeyfan-observer Posted January 13, 2023 Share Posted January 13, 2023 Not a bad effort tonight considering they outshot the Lightning - Tampa is simply a better team and no shame in losing to them on the road. Its the home games where they get blown out without any pushback that ticks off most fans. Their schedule looks pretty daunting the next two months and then they face some of the other teams in the bottom third. If they are out of the playoffs by then, I hope they at least give some of the youth a shot for once - players like Podkolzin Klimovich Pedersen Alman cuz if they don't play by that time, when will they play. Almost all the non-playoff teams will do that very same thing at that time. Maybe that's why this team has really struggled with prospects - rarely play them even when out of the playoffs - then end up having to sign expensive veterans that don't pan out at times and have no developed youth.. jyu Posted January 13, 2023 Share Posted January 13, 2023 The fact that this team can score 4 goals per game against some of the best teams in the league makes me optimistic for the future. The goals against will be lowered once we bring in a coach who knows how to implement a good defensive structure, upgrade on RD, defensively reliable forwards, and Demko returns. Defence can be fixed with coaching and some improvement in personnel. Scoring talent is hard to acquire. It won't be fixed this season though so we might as well enjoy the wins when they come and the good plays made by Pettersson, Hughes, Kuz, and company. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
