Well you completely missed the point of the statue but I'm not surprised.

When other teams mock us for complaining about the refs its perfectly understandable. The Anti-Canuck exceptionalism gets really tiring.

Oilers were a power play specialist team.  That might fly in the regular season but not in the post-season when games are alot tighter.  Heck, when the Canucks had the #1 power play under the Sedins; the refs started to swallow their whistles.  What happened was entirely predictable.

Vegas played a great shutdown game.  Big on defence. Big down the middle.  They have a nice blueprint on how to build a winning team.  No cups yet, but 4 conference finals in 6 years. More than the Canucks have had in their 53 year existence.

I was just thinking the same and thinking how many d men we need to upgrade to run with these teams.

I think the Oilers will be back next year.

This years team was an improvement on last years... even though they lost.

With Skinner, they have a decent goalie who won't cost them a lot... he got a lot of valuable experience.

They picked up Ekholm, who is a good reliable D-Man... who should be good for two years.

Bouchard should get better, Nurse and Kulak will be about the same.

They want to pick up another decent D-man.

They also need to find secondary  scoring in the playoffs... they were able to solve that in the regular season, but guys like Hyman, Kane, Nugent-Hopkins, etc. could not consistently score in either this series or against the Kings.  You can't depend on your two big guys in the playoffs, you need to get contributions up and down the lineup.

Oilers are not done as a Contender... I am sure they learned lots.

Big strong Canadian D-men.

Look at the guys on the Vegas Blueline.

Most of them are Canadian, most 6' 2" or over.

Well, I will admit I was surprised the Oilers coudn't do it this year.

I think the missing element was Kane... he was not a factor at all... either he is hurt or he just had a horrible playoffs.

And their defense just could not consistently deal with the Vegas forecheck... they were scrambling too much.

The Golden Knights are a very good team... last year they didn't make the playoffs, but the previous four years they have been right there.

With the Oilers gone, my prediction is an Eastern team will win it all.

I don't think Vegas or either Seattle/Dallas can beat Carolina/Florida.

Supposedly Kane has multiple injuries.

Pretty sure Draisaitl got hurt at some point this series too. He wasn't the same player the last few games.

Oilers have Ekholm from game 1 next year. I think they come back even stronger.

See you're doing it right now.

I have no issue if other fanbases want to laugh at us. Its part of the sport. But when I do it back its suddenly crossing the line.

Well, when you mock for the same reasons you've complained about it's hypocrisy, if you want to stoop to that level that's your thing and you do you.

Not really. As I already said its part of being a fan. If I cheer when my team scores and boo when they get scored on does that make me a hypocrite too?

Besides, if we're talking about hypocrisy I'm more referring to the narcissists in our midst such as yourself who castigate this fanbase from their ivory tower but immediately rush to the defense of others.

It's funny how we dunk on Myers but for once I'd like to see what he an do in the playoffs when he's fully unleashed. Been waiting the entire tenure of his contract. We need more big physical bodies on defence, not just Myer.  I recall the Leafs game when he just Leveled Tavares.  Imagine him doing that for an entire series. We've never truely known what we have in him.

We need 3 new Dmen IMO.  Hughes, Hronek, Hirose are the puck movers. We need the beef to support them.  Every Vegas Dmen is at least 6’2” except for Martinez, who is 6’1”.  We already have our 3 puck movers who are all smaller than that.

Graves, Gavrikov, Schenn, Mayfield, Tryamkin.  These are the guys we need. We still have OEL so he’s in for Hirose for now…

I'm sorry but even though the Canucks come first I do not share the hatred for other teams that you've exhibited.

This is the correct answer.

We have the puck movers... now we need the muscle who can control the boards, clear the front of the net and deal with the heavy forecheck.

Not to mention, we need muscle who can come to Hughes' rescue when the opposing forwards try to put a beating on him... which WILL happen in the playoffs.

Ideally, this is the lineup you want for next season:

Hughes    Mayfield

Graves     Hronek

OEL         Myers

Hirose      Schenn

Realistically, it can’t happen due to the cap.  But that is basically what we need to roll with if we want to have a chance in the playoffs…

Agree, my money is on Carolina.

I did think that Vegas would win.  It's tough when you don't like either team but I dislike the Oilers more having lived thru the 80's
