theminister
Wow. Well, I wasn't wrong. The Canucks had a good chance at him. This, hopefully, means MG has something cooking or he just missed the boat.

winthecup
I guess Gillis has a better and cheaper Centreman coming via trade.
zombieksa
I believe the Canuck's were at 50 contracts and could not claim him. Can't believe a team like Nashville didn't pick him up at the very least.

Opmac
Why did anybody think Mike Gillis was going to claim Jussi Jokinen? Cap is coming down next season and Jokinen is signed through next season with a $3 million cap hit.

firestorm238
I'm a little unclear on the waiver process. Is there something stopping MG from claiming Jokinen now and then turning around and putting him back on waivers at the end of this year?

Belsy91
Im very suprised he wasn't claimed, I thought he would have been a good fit here, I'm guessing his $3 million cap hit scared everyone off.

Tystick
I think it's due to the cap issues, and GM's are focused on the deadline right now. MG's gots dis!
elvis15
TSNBobMcKenzie Jokinen and Wallace (both CAR) clear, BOS claims Kaspars Daugavins from OTT on waivers.
themcdeal
For a supposed "horrible" player he's put up 163 points in 230 games in the previous three seasons... A lot better then some of our players (booth). Haven't watched the Canes play in a while though so I have no idea what's going on with him. Maniwaki Canuck
Wow, this is totally bizzare. Surely some bottom-feeder with cap space would have wanted this guy: it's not that bad of a contract. Maybe now there will be a trade, though, like happened with SOB a few years back when he cleared waivers, so that the team that takes him gets to offload something too. I sure hope something better is in the pipeline for us ...
