samurai
When you standard for grit when assessing current canuck players is by comparing them to Stan Smyl aka 'the steamer'.
Gollumpus
You remember thinking that $6 million was a huge cash grab by the NHL in order for the Canucks to join. You remember hearing who was on the first NHL team, and thinking, "Cool, a lot of these guys were with the team that won the WHL last year!" Jim Robson. Richard Loney. You remember the elation at merely getting a tie with one of the league's current power houses. The sense of, "Oh crap, there goes the season." when Kurtenbach was injured. Thus started a long standing tradition where the Canucks would crash and burn from December through February. You remember as one bad season was winding down, and the playoffs were not too far off, Vancouver fans chanting, "We're number seven! We're number seven!" or The comment, "The Canucks fans are chanting GO CANUCKS GO, but they're pointing at the exits while they're doing it." You remember word getting out that there was interest by other teams in Rosaire Paiement, and thinking, "The team would be crazy to trade this guy!" And the following season thinking, "Why didn't they trade this guy when they had the chance?" (Yes, Canuck fans are fickle regardless of the era.) Bobby Schmautz kicking the crap out of Keith Magnuson. regards, G.

TimberWolf
When you still get that "winning spirit" theme stuck in your head (red and gold, black and white, the winning spirit's here...!) Remembering Gretzky's records almost as much as Oiler fans because of how many were set in games against us.

MickVega
You remember the Oilers and Flames actually being better than the Canucks. (To the younger fans - this is not a myth, there was actually a time when Edmonton and Calgary were competitive)

Raoul Duke
When you remember your dad picking you up from elementary school on a cold winter night in 1985 and he takes you for a pre-game McDonald's dinner and you get a Muppet Baby toy in your happy meal, THEN you go see the Nucks take on the Hartford Whalers in the upper bowl and the tickets costed $30 for the pair. Provost
When you remember being at games when they played this song. I only had a clip of it... can't find the whole song. Effectively the message was that we knew we were going to lose most nights "but we always won the fights".
