Bombastik der Teutone
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=456873 The Florida Panthers locked up the first of their restricted free agents, signing defenceman Erik Gudbranson to a two-year deal. Terms of the deal were not immediately known. After being selected third overall in the 2010 NHL Draft, Gudbranson has played in 169 games with the Panthers, recording five goals, 21 points, and 239 penalty minutes. "Erik is an important part of our young core of talented players who we are pleased to have signed," Panthers GM Dale Tallon said in a team release. "He is a big, strong and physical defenseman who is one of the building blocks for our team. We look forward to his continued development and his contributions to the South Florida community." Stanley
If he dosen't get a lot better, he could be known as a bust. classic mishandling of a young player as seen in edmonton with all of their young players 26 points in 169 games, lol Tanev has more than that. Don't think he was ever supposed to be a point producing d man. Obv third overall looks way to high now but he is still a very good, young stay at home d man who will be a big part of thier team. ItsMillerTime
It seems like Florida can't draft. Jonathan Huberdeau was there only good draft pick I think.
Master Mind
He's been disappointing so far, but then again defencemen take a while to develop. He still has potential to be a top pairing guy. And Florida will need him to become that if they want to contend any time soon.
Monty
While it appears as though Gudbranson will prove not to be a high scoring defenseman, that much is obvious; the best the Panthers can hope for and work with him on is to become an elite shutdown defenseman. I'm not trying to be rude but that's a ridiculously ignorant statement. They have one of the best farm systems in the league.
