Jiggs50
I have felt this way since the beginning of last year and the Dallas game continues to expose this teams deficiencies. To all the optimists that will point out that the season has just started, I know it's only been 5 games. But answer this. What is this teams strength? Are the Canucks a skilled and finesse team? Are we a big physical team? A defensive team (LOL)? A speedy and hard on the forecheck type team? Is goaltending our strength? I see mediocrity across the board. JB needs to define what direction he wants to go. The defense looks old and slow. Lost for most of the part. Our centers are small and weak at faceoffs. This is a 1 line team. The rest are just 2-3rd line hybrid grinder types. Goaltending should be our strength but it hasn't looked it. I think this team needs to be a big, fast skilled team and certain players don't fit that profile (Hansen, Higgins). Jensen and Shink along with Bo Horvat should be given long looks this year. Ana, La, Chi, Stl, Dallas, Min, and Sj seem like locks to get in. Leaving us to compete for 8th. Were a competitive team but it's mediocrity across the board. Seriously, tell us something we don't already know. Or that the entire hockey community doesn't know.

Rex425
We have outplayed EVERY TEAM so far. 2 of them are legitimate playoff contenders. We lost because we have been unlucky. 46 shots is not "mediocre".

48MPHSlapShot
I would like to point out that the Canucks record after 6 games in the 2010-2011 season was 2-3-1.

Zuongo
We have new management/coach. Players are playing with new people. We are coming off a horrible year in a new system. WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING! Did you think we were going to just turn around and compete for the cup and never lose a game?! I expect the L.A Kings to get blown out in a game at least a few times in the year, doesn't mean they suck forever. It happens. The over reacting is nuuuuuuts here. Nuxfanabroad
I would like to point out that the Canucks record after 6 games in the 2010-2011 season was 2-3-1. Are we going to continue comparing our numbers(at regular intervals) with the 2011 season, throughout the year? Pretty unlikely.

Gross-Misconduct
The OP makes some good points. As for the 2nd line, we probably have 1 player in the lineup at the moment that can be considered a true 2nd liner in Bonino. Higgins is not a full time 2nd liner and Burrows has to play up to that role at this stage of his career. I'm not too paniced about the D so far but they are definitely not shutdown. As for Miller, he has plenty of time to turn it around BUT at the moment he looks like he could be JB's 1st mistake.
48MPHSlapShot
That wasn't the point. The point was to point out that a team that starts slow won't necessarily finish with a bad record...
