danjr
Well Kenins is at 18 games, max is 25 games to retain eligibility for the Calder. He will also be younger than the maximum allowed age. Not sure if the Swiss league team counts against those totals. It says major professional league, but doesn't list any. If he is eligible, do the Canucks give him that chance and only play him to his 25 games and hope for the best next year?
CaNuCkSLoUiE23
I think a guy by the name of Connor McDavid has a better chance than anyone...
MattJVD
Highly unlikely that he is scratched / sent down just to maintain Calder eligibility. He will not beat McDavid / Eichel next year even if he was eligible.
Ossi Vaananen
Eh 14 games left and he's a steady bottom 6. I think he gets at least half of those games. I doubt he's eligible next season.
Odd.
No. Kenins is a vital part of our 4th line. He's been by far one of the best rookies that look to be promising and him developing at the NHL level is just what he needs to take that next step. He's 24, and he's going to get a lot better when he gets those games. I say we play him over 25 games.
Patrick Jane
Kenins wouldn't win the calder ...too much better skill out there....Be interesting to see how many games he will play this year.

Tragoedia
For him to win the Calder next year (assuming he was eligible) he would have to put up even better numbers than Forsberg is doing this year. Next years top end candidates are far too talented for even many vets to beat. Add to the fact he'll be turning 25 and you know the committee takes that into account, and he'd have to put up insanely high numbers to get a real consideration. Kenins has been the biggest (positive) surprise this year, so basically everything he does is gold for me. He doesn't need a Calder. He just needs to show up every game and play hard. If he does, he will have a lengthy NHL career and potentially be in Vancouver a long time. But those are future concerns. This year is all that matters right now. Next will matter come the offseason, but one step at a time.
hatedkid666
Not gonna happen, won't be eligible, wouldn't have won if he was eligible
Zuongo
Really..... ? With McDavid and co joining the league.... REALLY!!?!
87Crosby
Only possible if McDavid does a Bennett/Embiid and is injured for the majority of the season, Eichel stays in College, the rest of the rookies have a quiet year and Kenins scores 20 goals/has 60 points and is still a rookie. So no.
jdatb
he cant beat mcdavid/eichel/bennet/dal colle/etc.

cyoung
some canuck fans are a little unrealistic some times lol no offence but line 4 grinders don't have the best odds of winning.
WilliesStache14
McDavid and Eichel say hello and aside from them there will still probably be another 10 rookies that will be ahead of Kenins
Qanux
There's a 1 in a millionth chance Kenins will win the Calder next year... canuck fan: So you're saying he still has a chance? woohoo!!! Sorry I couldn't resist...
JamesB
With Burrows back tomorrow there is a good chance he will be sitting. Maybe, but as others have noted, there is no chance Kenins wins the Calder even if he is eligible next year. He has been a positive surprise this year and looks like he can be a valuable bottom 6 player. But guys like that do not win Calder trophies.
