  1. Hey Vintage, what message board will you be going too now that this forum will be closing?

  2. Any vets in here? My border collie chomped a piece of cooked beef tbone (maybe 1-1.5cm which likely fractured into smaller pieces). Will their digestive tract break it down? She seems totally fine right now. Dr. Google says to just monitor the stool over the next day or so to make sure it passes.

Based on my research the cooked bone is more harmful than raw bone because raw bone is softer and easier for the stomach acid to break down. Cooked bone also fractures into sharper pieces. But like you say I imagine the stomach acid can still break some of it down to the point where the pieces are less sharp/harmful.

Well, it looks like we are in the clear. It has been a very normal day in all aspects. She went for a run and shows no signs of a blocked or distressed digestive tract. Certainly a relief and was a learning experience.

Still so far so good. We will see how the BMs go today but there has been zero sign of anything abnormal.

I gave her some scraps of meat off the bone. I was holding the bone thinking she would nibble at the meat scraps. But the silly dog chomped the end of the bone right off. I didn't think she'd be able to bite through it. For now she seems 100% normal so hopefully just a false alarm.

  6. End of the Auston Matthews saga in Toronto?

If I'm Toronto management I try to trade AM at the draft. I believe both he and Marner have NMCs that kick in July 1. One has to assume that he won't re-sign. The decision is for them to either make one last run next year or get some assets for him now before his NMC kicks in. It's too tough a sell to trade him at the TDL from a PR perspective and they are unlikely to get high picks from a contender. The most value would be extracted at the draft imo.

  7. Draft lottery is blatantly rigged. Everyone should boycott watching Blackhawk games. Covering up SA should not be rewarded.

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

It's certainly a convenient result but I doubt it's rigged. It's overseen by Ernst and Young. The crime is that Chicago even has a high pick. But you guys/gals are dreaming if you think Bedard isn't reporting...He's gone.

  8. Is this an age thing? This is the second time I've gone to the pub. Ordered. And given the wrong thing. I know severs get paid crap wages. But pro tip. Pen/ pad of paper. Write down the order and repeat it back to the customer.

I don't know why but I laughed at someone who is allergic to mushrooms being given the mushroom burger. You obviously sent it back?

  9. If Canucks somehow win #2 or #3, I’d trade that pick along with the next 4 1st rounders and our best prospects for #1

  10. Random question. Is there some sort of rule against a team signing a goaltender that's just a dude so obese that he fills up the entire net?

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

@chon derry you're right but butterbean would still leave gaps in a hockey net. The degree of obesity needed to take up the whole net is obscene.

That person would lack the cardio required to make the repeated small movements required to cover the small gaps in the net. They also couldn't stay up on skates for long enough, so no playing the puck etc. Anyone big enough to actually fill the net would be too medically unstable to play. I'm sure there are minimum fitness requirement for insurance and liability purposes.

  12. If Schenn is traded and he resigns with us in the off season, should we lock him up for 3 years at $3M and make him captain?

  13. how much does a player have to be paid, to take home a million dollars a year? would love to see schenn take home a mil per year

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

Probably around 1.75 or so? They are paid in USD so they can take home 1M CAD somewhat easily. A lot of these guys have corporations so they can control how much taxable income they get paid per year. I presume that even after retirement, their corp can continue to pay them salary.

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

No. That's too much and for too long for what he brings. Love Schenn, but he isn't someone you overpay at this stage in his career; he will be 34 next season. I would go 1 year deals from here on out.

  15. Barzal done for the season. 1st could be next years at this point

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

This is precisely why it was wise to be the first mover. If we would have waited until TDL to try to squeeze the best deal (maybe) the Isles would no longer be in the mix. Hopefully Bo can lead them to 13th!

  16. If Canucks win 1st or 2nd overall, would you agree with them trading for a slew of other assets?

  17. Anyone else getting a really weird feeling about these latest two objects being shot down? Like at least with the balloon we knew what it was but they’re being awfully cagey about the details of these two

    1. I.Am.Ironman

Trudeau was tagged a few times in rd one but his strategy paid off and he took over in the next 2 rounds.

  18. if PA can move OEL and myers, he'll correct JB's mistakes and if they move JT's contract, they will correct theirs.

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

It makes the most sense to just ride out the Myers deal. We need someone to play RHD anyways. We don't have 6 defencemen better than him anyway.

  20. I think the #2 pick will be in Matvei Michkov. as long as he recovers well from injury. He has committed himself to the KHL until 2026 makes him a plus to bottom feeder teams. He is a tank pick, because he wont have the chance to improve the team until his D+3 year. A bottom feeder team could have 3 top 5 picks enter the league within 2 years which could really allow for you to gun for it in 4-5 years time

    1. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

Most would want their top 3 pick to have an NHL impact within 2-3 years. D+3 is a long time and a big risk for a team to take on with a high pick. All that matters to the Canucks is who is projected to be available at #5

I still have to get experience to become a CPA, but the worst of it is over.
