  1. The JB haters(HFtypes) are utter hypocrites.

They say he didn't rebuild. They point to our last 4 yr record(worst in league). Doesn't that indicate a team landing high picks? Never traded away 1st's in desperation, either.

From 2014-2018 what team(s) has drafted better that our Mgt/scouting group? I'd guess we must be top-3, league-wide. Is there any team that's far & away at the top of the list?

The ranting(against JB) of these HFHater types is becoming increasingly irrelevant, & out-of-touch with reality.

Couldn't happen to a better bunch!

  2. I fear that JB will build a contender only to be fired just before it takes flight due to the complaints of the impatient fan base. Watch for the next GM to claim all the glory and credit in fans eyes.

How long do you think we should give him?

  3. Where to eat in Vancouver? All cuisines & price points

  4. Canucks have only given up 25 goals in the 11 games without Gudbranson.

Unsurprising. He was worse than our depth Utica defenders, and castaways like Luke Schenn lol.

Only bad thing about him being gone is that getting rid of his 4.0ga/60 ass is ruining the tank!

  5. Looking to go somewhere sunny in November, is Bahamas worth the extra money? Or should I stick to what I know and go back to Cuba? Open to anywhere Safety and food are my main priorities

  6. I have seen a lot of Quinn Hughes comparisons but to me they are not realistic.

A true realistic comparison for Quinton Hughes imo,in terms of style of play and expected production, is a Left hand undersized d man Samuel Girard.

Both are small and have elite edgework that can elude checkers by turning on a dime.

I think that is a fair bar to measure him by the rest of this szn and his first full rookie year.

  7. Is there really anyone out there other than Leafs fans that think Toronto can beat Boston?

  8. I get the sense that the Fire Green threads are approaching. It happens to all coaches eventually, but Green's lasted longer than most before facing the wrath of fans.

He signs free agents to make us better and then we end up just as bad as we were when we didn't have them. The only difference is we have less cap flexibility for when we have to sign players we hope develop properly. Ask Winnipeg what they thought about Chevldayoff being too timid. When Winnipeg were horrible he didn't go making bad trades and signing unnecessary UFA's. sure they lost for a few years, but now when they actually need moves, look at him go. It's also not hard to build a top prospect pool picking where we have been picking. In fact, I'm surprised it's not better than it is.

I’d think it would be more fire Benning.

  12. McCann playing with Crosby/Guentzel.. Guddy playing top 4 mins. PIT has been picking it up, what a world. Sid coming on as the best player in the league again IMO.

Crosby is the big story here, he’ll be in the running for the Hart again

  13. Riddle me this: Sutter played nearly every game while he was with Carolina and Pittsburgh, but once he came to Vancouver he can barely play half a season.

Playing 81 or 82 games should be the norm for the team. Not the exception. He’s had ONE healthy season out of 4 for us.

  14. Brandon Sutter out for 6-8 weeks still.

  15. I can't wait for the playoffs to start.

  16. So I was looking into the forward lines next year, and assuming Baertschi comes back (see Crosbys concussions 2011/2012), we have far too many forwards than we do spots. Giving the young guys ice time I would think:

    Goldobin - Pettersson - Boeser
    Baertschi - Horvat - Leivo
    Pearson - Gaudette - Virtanen
    Roussel - Beagle - MacEwan

This leaves Sutter, Motte, Spooner, Eriksson, and Granlund on the outs.

Im guessing they won't resign Granlund. Maybe they move Mr. Foundation at the draft, and start Spooner in the AHL? That leaves Eriksson and Motte for the 13th forward... Maybe Ottawa will take Eriksson on to hit cap floor haha.

  17. November is what did us in this year. If we didn’t get destroyed by injuries we could have challenged for a divisional spot. Absolutely no reason why we can’t make it next year.

We also tied the lightning in the season series, so if sure we could take them to 7 in a playoff series as well?

October always is and always will be the worst time to measure a teams success going forward, good teams just dont take it seriously. Even in that 2011 year the Canucks came out like dog crap to start the season. it meant nothing in the long run.

Roussel plays first line minutes a lot of nights because we have no better options. That says a hell of a lot right there.

Not with our current roster. There needs to be drastic drastic change for this team to have a chance at a wildcard spot next year

  19. Biega or Stecher? Two beauties.

Which player commits a higher % of effort to excel?

Through painstaking research, I've discovered one gives 'er 119.3%, & the other 119.5%.. every shift eh?

  20. I love what JB has done so far rebuilding this team, but his comments that he's not trading for futures at the deadline is concerning. This team is 1 game under .500 and as of today 25th in a 31 team league, and only 5 pts (if LA wins the game in hand) from 2nd to last and 5 wins ahead of being in last place in the entire league. I believe he may be thinking, with one more year this team will be 'good enough' to start turning the corner. He may be being blinded by the fact they are close to a playoff position (and ignoring how close we are to the bottom), but being this close to the playoffs is an aberration, the West is very weak this year. Being a few games over .500 is not a playoff team historically. I understand his desire to let the boys fight to make it in, but he also has to be objective and think longer term than just this year. I love this team, but we still have many holes and many players who will not be part of the long term solution / won't be here when we are ready. Not being a seller is repeating past mistakes. I am not saying tank, but you have to be open to moving players that may have value around the league if they aren't going to be part of the long term solution. If he doesn't try, I will give the JB bashers a point this year.

  21. There are tons of media that are clamouring for us to be bad (**cough** Botch **cough**) and that the worst case scenario is a 9th place finish in the conference. I look at some of the players that were taken in the 12-18 range (where I think we will pick) and I see a lot of really good talent. Macavoy, Fabbro, Brannstrom, Vakkahainen, Denisenko, Ty Smith. We are going to get a really good player.

  22. Didn't see this tweet before, but Im glad to see Benning and Aquilini on the same page.

  23. Hearing some Hutton bashing on the radio. Out of curiosity am I the only one that thinks Hutton has proved himself a top 4 defensemen this year?

    1. Zhukini

      Zhukini

I ragged on Hutton all year last year, because well he was awful. He’s improved leaps and bounds this year and good for him, he is absolutely a top 4 dman going forward, hopefully for us. Saying that, he made at least 1 awful play yesterday which isn’t as bad as some though

  24. Man I crapped ob Luca Sbisa so much when he was here, but holy crap I'd rather have him here over Guddy or Pouliot

  25. If we're changing our jerseys for next season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a colour change-up to allow Seattle to have the blue/green palette.
