    Might be an unpopular opinion on this board; but if the Canucks somehow get a lottery pick this year I hope Jack Hughes DOES NOT fall to us. We don't need another small C, plus I like our top 3 of the future with Petey, Horvat, and Gaudette.

    Maybe it's just me, but I'm super excited to see Crosby on fire right now. With all the talk of Ovechkin setting amazing records, I feel that Crosby's been a bit left behind.

    Yost thinks Tkachuk and Dahlin actually have a chance at the Calder. What a joke. Just on entertainment alone Pettersson wins by a wide margin.

    The Athletic did a future season's power rankings ('21-'22) and the Canucks came in 6th place in the league.  Of course it comes with the caveat of between now and then, anything can happen to the roster via free agency, trades, player performance, draft, etc.

    The Canucks’ eye for talent in the era of GM Jim Benning gave them a young core and collection of talent that earned a perfect 10 from one of the panelists in that category. Elias Pettersson looks every bit like he’ll be one of the game’s next superstars. Questionable contracts that will still be on the books (Loui Eriksson and Jay Beagle, for instance) in three years dinged the Canucks in these rankings, but there’s still a lot here to be excited about.

     

    Wheeler on why he likes the Canucks’ young core: “The biggest thing for me on Vancouver is I’m higher than most on a lot of their young players. I really like Thatcher Demko, I really like Adam Gaudette. Obviously Pettersson and Brock Boeser are wonderful young players. Jonathan Dahlen is outstanding. There’s just depth in numbers there and a goaltender prospect who projects as a No. 1, which a lot of teams don’t have.”

    650 has turned me off. their whole show is pumping, pettersson's tires. they have him in the hall of fame already. 

    so i turned them off.

    Send him back to Sweden. This league doesn't care if our young stars get illegally injured. Media treat it as humour.

     

    Next yr he & QH finish 1-2 in ROY race.

     

    Screw it..tank hard with extra patience.

    People here keep misspelling Jonathan Dahlen's last name as "Dahlin". Imagine if both him and Rasmus Dahlin were Canucks.

    A week ago if you asked me when I think our team could contend for a Stanley Cup, I'd tell you... realistically early 2020's.

     

    After watching the group play during camp, I'm convinced that this team can compete THIS year. I don't think I'm being overly optimistic here.

     

    Could we see a story book ending in which the Sedins join the team before the playoffs and win a cup? I think it's possible. Not guaranteeing it but we definitely can watch some competitive hockey this coming year and hopefully a true dynasty in the 2020's

      There’s 30 other teams in the league every one is saying the same thing after training camp, sorry but this is still a bottom 10 team and that’s being generous. Anything else would be more than a major miracle
