  1. Well we did have a few thrown jerseys on the ice. But the product the players gave on the ice is also pretty horrible. So chicken and egg.
  2. If they had pulled off the Miller trade, it would have been awesome. Too bad it didn't happen... 2 1sts and a flippable Zucker.
  3. This fan base's sentiment towards the team entirely is based on the previous 3 games played. Short term memory. Not kidding.
  4. Still looks like a fringe playoff team after your huge remodeling, sorry to say. This is why I've been saying we should full rebuild.
  5. How Kesler plays after the trade doesnt matter. At the time Kesler was a 40 goal scoring center on a 5million per year contract and single handedly won us the Nashville series. Should have been a blockbuster return. Not #24 1st round pick, 2nd line center, and Sbisa who already was showing signs he is not panning out to be top 4 D.
  6. lolol.. Kesler gave Benning 2 teams so he lost the deal. OEL gave Arizona 2 teams and Benning still lost the deal. The fan-made reason for the subpar Kesler return is just laughable.
  7. ..? Manson's 6'3, Toew's 6'1, 2x Johnson's 6'1 and 6'3. Makar is really strong. Not sure what you are talking about. That is more muscle than what we are acing on our blueline...
  8. Horrible faceoff numbers for a C. Still cheaper than Garland though lol. Don't know why I was the only one jumping up and down at Garland's contract (and Dickinson's) at the time. Supposingly there's inflation, but 2 years later, better players are still signing for less than Garland.
  9. We're over the cap for next season as it is now. Not sure how we pony up 6-8 million to sign 2 new players.
  10. What does Kravtsov and Nichushkin have anything to do with each other other than being Russians? So Aman is going to trend like Naslund? /facepalm.
  11. No need. It's already implied. In fact, it will trigger more thinking. People will think, so why are we banned? Oh because we are ruled by ....
  12. Pettersson. 30 goals, 100point seasons? This looks like the norm for Pettersson for the next few years.
  13. Stating that we also played well at the second half of last season and it did not carry over to this season, so we should not be overly optimistic about the current run is just stating reality. Many factors could or could not be true about last season so I am not going to comment. But for this season, I have never seen an easier schedule than this. After TDL we are playing either Anaheim, or Nashville, or Arizona, or San Jose. Western Conference is so weak this year it is laughable. They further sold along their core pieces to Eastern teams making them even weaker after TDL.
  14. Now imagine if Mikheyev wasn't injured, he would have scored 25 goals for us. Hoglander scores 20 goals and Podkolzin scores 20 goals, both weren't sent down. Horvat wasn't traded, an extra 20 goals from him until the end of the season. Now with our season +70 goals more, we would easily flip 15 losses into wins. That would make our record that would make us #5 in the conference right now, right at the top of the pack. Am I doing this right? lol, reality doesn't work that way.
  15. This guy's got an eq of a leaking pipe. Pretty ridcious if hes not even good at fighting, but just hiding behind the goalie glamor.
  16. If you think Hronek was a great trade, wait 2-3 years for it to potentially blow up in your face. To me, it’s unnecessary risk we took once again because we had no patience and reached for another quick bandaid that doesn’t fix our mediocrity. Once again another retool and the price this time is pretty steep. Once again about Pettersson and Hughes.. you know, Colorado went through a rebuild too with MacKinnon right there being 22-24 years old and they were selling. They understood they weren’t there and rebuild with MacKinnon. Canucks? Retooling since 2012 and bs reasoning to justify management’s actions like we need to care if Pettersson or Hughes is staying.
  17. So instead of having a vision and solid blueprint for success the Canucks base their direction on 1 or 2’s player desire to stay or not? That’s legendary management right there. #12-20 draft in 2023? Doesnt have to be RHD, we take the best player available and could be the next Barzal, Dobson, Suzuki, Thomas. I love how the fanbase just dives in headfirst and use nonsense to explain away/justify management’s moves. by the way, in the OEL trade the same reasoning was applied. Garland is better than the 9th pick, we wouldn’t be able to draft a better player than Garland with 9th. Oh the irony.
  18. Just like how Detroit convinces us to trade them a 1st and 2nd in the generational draft of 2023. We are always desperate for a quick bandaid (retool). No vision, no patience. Previous high draft under age25? Take our draft picks!!
  19. Why's this fanbase so obssessed with free stuff and trade wins. I mean you can win 20 trades, and get all the free prospects you want, but if your team sucks what are you holding on to? According to many fans, we win so many trades over the years. Winning so many trades that we are still at the bottom of the league when it comes to the standings 5-10 years later.
  20. lol... draft picks are overrated? All stanley cup winner's core is built from draft picks. All up and coming rising teams (New Jersey, Ottawa, Buffalo) are built with draft picks. Draft picks are overrated?? lol. Your point would only make sense if we already have a contending core or close to one. We don't. Pettersson/Hughes/Demko. I have never heard of a core that performs so poorly and perform at the bottom of the league for so many years. Pettersson - 5th season in, Hughes - 4th season in, Demko - 4th season in. Players like MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen, Kucherov, Point, Hedman were already pushing further and further into the playoffs at this point in their careers. This year we are #6 counting from the bottom up.
  21. Uhhhh... who just traded a top 20 pick in the generational draft of 2023....? who....!?!?
  22. Like how most of CDC pencils in Podkolzin to score 20, 25 goals a few months ago.
  23. That's the mentality... and the reason players/agents use to extract ridicously high AAV contracts out of teams. But just because it is the norm, doesn't mean it is right thing for the teams. Do these players really produce the result at these caphits? We've seen how Kane/Toews dual 10.5mil contract basically dragged Chicago to the bottom of the sea. Doughty at 11mil, Karlsson at 11.5mil. It seems more like the teams that hand out these monster contracts to their superstars actually do a lot worse in the standings after the signing. Is Tavares worth 11mil? Marner worth 11mil? Seems like Toronto every year have to do all these extraordinary moves just to mitigate 2-3 million in salary, at the expense of their future. There are teams that don't bite. Either they are cheapskates or whatever they won't hand out these monstrous contracts. We were actually one of those teams under Benning. You can tell from how we handled Boeser/Pettersson/Hughes contracts.
  24. 11.25mil for Pastrnak is too much. Obviously awesome player, but making top 5 AAV in the league? Something like 10mil sounds reasonable. He's really squeezed it out of Boston and I'm surprised they bite.
