The board upgrade has been nothing short of a disaster so far.

@VanGnome The line-up is currently set as such (ballpark of course).
Leipsic/Horvat/Boeser
Baer/Sutter/Eriksson
Goldobin/Beagle/Virtanen
Roussel/Schaller/ Gagner
Granlund filling in where needed.
Tanev/Edler
Gudbranson/Del Zotto
Pouliot/Stecher
Hutton/Biega filling in where needed.
Markstrom/Nielsen
Where do you see space for Pettersson, Gaudette, Dahlen, Juolevi, Hughes, or Demko making the team out of camp? The team is saturated with 3rd and 4th liners. -
Stecher spending a month in Utica and Boeser being scratched for two games ultimately didn't have a huge impact on their pro careers, so I can live with short-term sacrifice for long-term gain. That being said, I think we'd all like to see Pettersson, Dahlen, Gaudette, and potentially Hughes in the lineup.
There are a lot of bubble players that the Canucks will have to make decisions on. I wouldn't rule out any of those guys forcing a more established player off the team. Even in the worst case scenario, none of those prospects are leaving the organization anytime soon, which is the most important thing IMO.

@Fateless
Pettersson - Horvat - Boeser
Baertschi - Sutter - Eriksson
Goldobin - Gaudette - Virtanen
Roussel - Beagle - Schaller
Leipsic/Gagner
Leipsic and Goldobin could very easily switch places, Goldobin is nowhere near guaranteed a spot on the roster. Imo today's signings have rendered Gagner beyond redundant and makes Gaunce even less.
Hughes - Tanev
Edler - Stecher
Del Zotto - Gudbranson
Pouliot/Hutton
Juolevi is still recovering/rehabing from off season back surgery, he won't be ready to play right away, and when he is ready he will start in the AHL, we may see him as an injury call up/in the event of a Del Zotto deadline trade.
Dahlen is likely to begin in the AHL and get called up in the event of injury/trade. Nilsson can easily be buried in the minors for 1 year if Demko is just that good and forces managements hand. Good problems to have.
Edit: Forgot about Granlund. Guaranteed there will be moves made this off-season. Canucks simply have too many NHL caliber bodies.

@smithers joe I start in mid September, which is quite good as I need to find a place to live and the Fringe Festival is on throughout August so things are crazy expensive right now.

It's my mom's native language and I wish she'd taught us to fluency when I was younger though. So much easier to soak it in when you're a kid.

They used to do that years ago (think it was called Canada 3000 or something). Used to fly Manchester - Reykjavik (to refuel) - Calgary - Vancouver. Still only took 10 hours.
Christmas it just goes more expensive. Need to look to see if they fly to Glasgow in the winter and see how much that'd be. Just don't want to do a 10 hr flight then a long train / coach ride.
CA/AT seems cheaper from the UK.

So it turns out I don't start my job until October 20th... I need to start thinking of things to fill my time.

Already started Hodor. And yeah, I'll play GTA. Once the online game is launched. I've been casually playing the last 2 days but ended up a bit bored.
My parents asked me if I wanted to go to Germany with them and my brother for a few days. Which would definitely be cool (love Germany), but it seems like an unnecessary expense that I can't really contribute towards at the moment. Plus, I know the only real reason is because they need a (bad) translator.

I've only just started A Game of Thrones a couple of days ago, so not very far yet. I'm not sure if I want to go past where the show is. I like the surprise element that comes with not knowing what happens.
Yeah, Germany is great. I learned a little German in school and went to Munich and Bavaria a couple of years ago. Loved it. I was planning on going to Dortmund and Nordrhein-Westfalen early next year anyway for a soccer game (once I've got money behind me), so I'...
