  1. Fun fact - only 6 first overall picks have won the cup with the team that drafted them since 1983.

  3. I still stand by the fact that this lottery system is good. I enjoy seeing bubble teams like the Stars/Flyers/Canes get rewarded for competing.

    Teams who are truly bad will have ample opportunity to turn things around if they draft properly. Just because you don't get top three doesn't mean picks 4-10 are suddenly complete ass.

  4. I'm checking out folks. The anxiety of the draft lottery is to much.  I shall return at the start of draft lottery.  Make sure you bring tissues for another sad day in Canucks history.  Top 3 is all I want! Give us some championships!!;

  5. What are your thoughts on Olli Juolevi?

  6. Ducks are done.

  7. I like Evan Bouchard so far. Convince me otherwise.

  8. The officiating in this Jets-Wild game is something else. Brutal.

  9. Did the Sabres break Ryan O'Reilly?

  10. Tryamkin is coming back as soon as his contract is up!!!

  12. Just became a Canucks season ticket member - amidst the sadness of the Sedins retiring, I'm excited and optimistic about what's to come now with young, skilled players and a plethora of cap space.

  13. Anyone but Bo being captain next season would be a massive PR mistake.

      Making hockey decisions based on public response rather than based on what is best for the team is not a good way to go. That said, I think naming Bo captain is the right move from a hockey perspective, not just a PR perspective. He will be a great bridge between the new guys and the vets. Go with no captain for a year if need be, because it would also be a bad idea to give the C to Sutter to just hold onto for a year until Bo is ready.

  16. One of my favourite/most underrated Sedin plays... for some reason I've always remembered this goal really vividly. Gonna miss watching those tape to tape, no look, perfect passes.

  19. Ron Maclean went on SN650 and said he didn't know if Sedins belonged in the HHoF because they didn't sustain their success over a long period of time... :

  22. why does our team always have so many injuries? Do we just have a bunch of injury prone guys?

  23. Love seeing the Flames lose the way they're losing right now!

  24. I love when my car insurance jumps arbitrarily up by 20 dollars and nobody at the insurance center can explain why it went up so much.

  25. According to Hockey-Reference, since 1987, no NHL player has had more time on ice in a regular season game than Mattias Ohlund did on February 13, 1999, when he played 46:52 of the game. The game didn't even go into overtime. This was before I was a regular fan; does anyone know what caused such a dramatic amount of ice time?
