    i don't know what the cap floor will be next year, but if we don't sign any expensive ufa and just sign our rfa to modest raises, we could be flirting with the cap floor. i might be wrong on that.

      we don't need to overspend, but if we do get a big ticket star like tavares then that would mean people come to games more often and owner is happy. I believe what we need is just a few vets signed to mix in with our young players. we have to have a mix... 2-3 players should do the trick.

      I'm fine with that.  Adding some toughness is all I really want via UFA.  The big-ticket signings should be made once the team's better anyway.  It's not like we're Ottawa where the owner simply doesn't care about icing a competitive team.
