Look how they massacred my boy...

@luckylager I'm not taking it well at all. I can't believe Jimbo would do this! I cried in the bathroom at work today. Hopefully he doesn't get claimed, tears it up in Utica, then is called right back up.
Bo must be really disappointed right now...

Thought for those who still don't like Benning: Fenton was the other frontrunner that CDC liked at the time of his hiring. I think it's safe to say his moves in Minny have been curious to say the least.
Benning haters, would you prefer Fenton? -
That's some horrible timing for Peyton Krebs. Tough blow! I guess we can cross one off from the list of possible choices for the Canucks in the 1st round.

I just love how there’s absolutely zero media mention about what Rielly said but when there was a rumour about something Burrows said they made him out to be the worst person in NHL history.

Biega or Stecher? Two beauties.
Which player commits a higher % of effort to excel?
Through painstaking research, I've discovered one gives 'er 119.3%, & the other 119.5%.. every shift eh?

You're argument was regarding what it takes to be a "bonafide NHL defenseman", not a Norris trophy one. Around half of all NHL defensemen playing regular minutes are small in stature. Yet they all play big minutes in the game. You're argument was that you have to be a specific size to be a bonafide NHL defenseman. Now you're changing your case for a Norris trophy winner, a trophy that can only be won by 1 defenseman out of the 100+ NHL defenseman playing the game. The game has been trending to the speed and skill for years. Just look a Gudbranson, he's getting more irrelevant by the year due to his lack of speed. Even Pouliot has a better stats than him defensively. This is just the +/-... Guddy (-25) Pouliot (+0)...

I obviously exaggerated for their team. But you can't seriously be so ignorant as to disregard a player by his size and weight. We all know the NHL has been trending towards the small puck moving defenseman for years. Our very own top prospect Quinn Hughes is 5'10" 178lbs, are you going to disregard him too?
Here's a few small NHL defensemen who average around 20 minutes a night specifically: Krug, Barrie, Spurgeon, Ellis, Gostisbehere, Butcher, Goligoski, DeAngelo, Stetcher, Girard, Greene, Vatanen, Stralman, Grzelcyk, Hunt, Russell, Mete, Wideman, Pilut, Heed, Ryan, Honka, Rhwedel, Murphy, Hanley, Hicketts, Lindholm, Weber, Hunwick, etc. etc....

Sorry @DADDYROCK I strongly disagree. Tell that every single Nashville Predator defenseman that has ever played in the league.

Should the Canucks retires Luongo's number?

So who's gonna wake up 4:30am in the morning to watch the Canucks game on thursday?
-
So I want to either buy a Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, or something else to stream Hockey to the TV, and watch other things like the news, ABC, Netflix. I don't want to hook up a laptop to the TV, and prefer a streaming device. Any suggestions on which device is better, and for the best price?
-
Yo, nerds online. Say I wanted to buy a song to convert to CD, what's the best way to do that these days? Amazon doesn't work for Canadians

What's he talking about??

What if Gordon Ramsey was an NHL coach?

We sure are fortunate the Horvat pick has turned out as well as it has, I can only imagine what this team and our future would be looking like right now if we'd nabbed a dud.
-
@Drive-By Body Pierce Bo would probably still be our #1 centre, but Nolan will be an elite top 6 forward who can play both wing and centre. So there may be times we'll have a "Baer-Bo-No" line. And other times they will be the 1-2 punch.

I'm strangely nostalgic for the "Fire AV" days. He wasn't perfect, but he was certainly more competent than Willie.
-
@Alflives You're right! It was Torts. Well that makes one of my points unsustainable, but I think you still get what I've intended point out.
@Pears Well yeah I suppose that's a strong inverse point. But strategically, it would have been the smarter thing to do by playing the fresher also franchise level goaltender who didn't just get torn apart in game 6. Of course hindsight has to be taken into account. Too many 'what ifs' to dwell on it, and yet here we are.

He would still be a coach here had he played Schneider in game 7 of the 2011 SCF. He would still be coach if he didn't play Lack instead of Luongo for the Heritage Classic. But those are only a few mistakes. One of his best traits was utilizing the Sedins properly with the right linemates... (Burrows, Samuelsson, Kesler).
As much as I want to blame Willie, he doesn't have the primed Sedins or the dragon slayer Burr we had once upon a time. Or arguably the best goalie in the NHL.
But it does seem like we're grooming Green just like we did with AV so I ain't complaining.
I say we trade our top defenseman (Tanev) for Mikael Granlund. Let's get a new generation of brothers leading this team. Sedins can mentor them despite the fact that the Granlund brothers are doing pretty well at this point in their careers compared to the Twins at the same point in their respective careers.
