To me it seems the lack of offense is due to the roles they have been asked to play especially for OEL, When Hughes was out for 3 games OEL got 6-7 points.

I'd go one further and say he's been our best overall defenseman on average and now with Hughes continuing to improve and with OEL here he's 3rd at worst going forward. I hear on sports shows from other markets saying his contract sucks and he's a $3 million dollar player at most, I can only think they never watch him and someone said he sucks so they all just go with it. To me he is a solid top 4d.

To me Pearson is a guy that does all the heavy lifting on a line, his hard work gives his line mates opportunities but if they don't capitalize on them it reflects on Pearson's stat card. Pearson is generally a player that earns every point he gets.

The only way I trade Schenn straight up is for a first, which no one is going to do, I think his value to the team is higher then a 2nd and for sure more then a 3rd. Like others have said the only way I see LS getting traded is in part of a multy player deal.

JT Miller is a real hard thing to figure out, you can trade him and get hopefully a really solid return that could set the team up for decades (think the Linden trade) but that could screw up team chemistry and have a detrimental effect. Or you can take the risk and resign him to a new contract if he wants to sign with us that is probably going to be long and expensive and then hope that he can Continue to play well into his Mid 30's like someone Bergeron. Either options are a risk, glad I'm not the one that has to make the decision.

Brock's best years where playing with Bo and bearcheese, I don't understand why they don't have him playing with Bo anymore. It could be that EP/JT just don't play a game that works for him. That being said we need to make some moves and he seems to be the most logical person to move. As for Pearson, I still think he is the most under rated person on the team, I don't get the criticism that he gets. He's a complementary player and a good one IMHO but his point totals go where Bo's go and Bo is having a bad year. He's kind of like Burrows in a way, he didn't drive the offense as much as his hard work allowed the Sedins to do their thing.

I personally think that the black skate jersey is the nicest jersey in hockey and I can't believe that we haven't gone back to it yet. The color scheme is just so good.

I think it's one of those things that comes down to do we want to be a team that can make the playoffs or do we want to be a team that can dominate them? If it's the later then we need to make moves. It might make us worse in the short term but in the long term it should pay off. We no longer have any prospects that we know of that are going to be difference makers and we are a Cap team so free agents are out of the question. That really only leaves the trade route to improve the team. 1 or 2 really smart trades could be all we need to turn this team into something special, of course trades don't always work out the way you hope. I'm hoping this management team wont be happy just being a playoff team and is willing to take the risks needed to turn us into a contender.

It's hard to tell because for example I think that EP is above average speed, that being said he rarely uses his speed. Motte might or might not be the fastest player, but he uses his speed pretty much at all times, so even if he isn't the fastest guy he seems like he is cause he is always at top speed. BB is he slow or is he just lazy? I think our team could be much faster if our players hustled a little more. Another example is Horvat I've seen that guy fly down the ice, but it's once every 10-20 games. So my question is are we a slow team or do we just play slow?

Isn't one of Halaks bonuses for keeping a save percentage over 910? If so I guess the glass half full point of view is he wont be getting that.

It's fine if they need to be replaced because of wear etc. but just because of the color seems wasteful.

This 100% I've hated the Fish jersey for 30 years now. I just don't understand why they torture the fans and the players, we had the best jersey in hockey and they choose to make the players wear one of the worst, it just makes no sense and it's time to change it.

I hope not, this is really scary stuff to be honest, I came into this thread because I heard he got player of the week, and now I'm sick to my stomach.

I hope your right, this glimmer of hope which is really unrealistic scares me honestly. I'm tired of this team not doing the right thing just because the fans have this unrealistic hope the team will make the playoffs. I want to have faith in the new management team but until they do I have to assume they wont, just like every Canucks management team I can remember before them.

I really hope Jack is ok, I've never heard of someone being knocked out for 10 plus minutes before.

Oh for sure there is still hope but a month ago we needed to go at a 700 pace and that was unlikely now its almost 750 so things haven't improved for use and we have less games to make up the difference. If we get 3-4 more loses by TDL we are all but mathematically out. We need a 5-6 game winning streak real quick to keep any hope alive really.

The way I see it with NYR is they are both young and old their best players Kreider and Panarin are both 30 and soon to decline you would think, so the question they need to ask is will the young guys improve faster then the old guys decline? I'm not sure what the answer is. So do you take your shot while you know those two are still in their prime or do you take the chance that they wont decline and the young guys will improve? Stay tuned I guess.

We need roughly 49 points out of the 66 available to us which is 75% of the points, I'm pretty sure we can give that dream up, now.
