DownUndaCanuck Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 He was brutal last season, bad at the World Championships and honestly hasn't done anything this pre-season either, despite playing on our top-6 for most nights. Yes, he picked up a lowly assist tonight against an AHL Oilers team by making an easy pass to the point, but that's quite simply not good enough for our top-6. He's been outscored by the Sedins, Vbrata, Bonino, Jensen and Shinkaruk to name a few this preseason and that's against lowly competition. That if nothing else should give everyone an indication of how far his skill has deteriorated over the last couple of seasons. Burrows never had much offensive flair or pure talent, he only scored goals because he was placed with the Sedins. Now, what little skill he had is finally drying up and he's off the twins line, leaving him with nothing, which we all saw last year as 5 goals in 40 games (basically a 4th liner's production pace). Keep trying mate. World Championship? Kind of hard to have an impact when you get a knee injury in a preliminary game against Italy. And "he only scored goals because he was placed with the Sedins"?. I guess you forgot about the series winning OT goal against St. Louis. Or the OT series winning goal against Chicago? Or the highest point of the '11 run, when he scored the OT winner against Boston to take us up 2 -0 in the series. All of them without the help of a Sedin. Burrows had 3 major injuries last year, and topped it off with that World Championship knee injury to boot. With so many other healthy players having a crappy year last season you pick on Burrows? The guy that had the most goals for us in the previous shortened season when he was last healthy? Why don't you go...................put another shrimp on the barbie mate.
