[REPORT] - Peter Mueller set to become a UFA

Recommended Posts

Mueller seems like a reasonable risk signing. Lots of interesting RFAs who might not be qualified this season.

For example,

Mueller, Fehr, Brule, Latendresse, Comeau, Ryan White, Nokelainen, Puoliot

Or a player like Cody Almond of MIN who doesn't sign.

Center Cody Almond has left the Wild and signed to play with Servette in Geneva of the Swiss League through 2015.

The move surprised the Wild because Almond would require waivers to be sent to the minors next season, meaning if he didn't make the team in training camp, he would have a chance to be claimed by another team.

Fair enough...

1-year/$1m base salary, $2m for performance based bonuses (games & minutes played, goals, assists, points).

Exactly. If he fits in seamlessly, he stays since he also plays the wing. If he doesn't fit in seamlessly, he moves on.

There are not many better chances to get top-six minutes right off the bat on a Cup contending team. Chicago needs a #2 centre but I think they want Sam Gagner.
