Game of Thrones, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Boardwalk Empire, Suits, Survivor, Hunted, Strikeback, Spartacus are real shows. But I guess everyone on here has basic cable and only watches the 4-5pm time slot. Simpsons lost it's appeal ages ago, and Community is good but doesn't deserve to be here. Saying that, it is most certainly not one of the top 2, or even top 10 shows on TV. Maybe in its heydey you could make a case for it (and even still it would be a tough sell), but its a long way gone nowadays. Link to comment

Even quality "basic cable" TV shows like Studio 60 from 2006 get cancelled due to a lack of viewership because people flock to spoon fed garbage like "Dancing with your American Idol". There's countless shows (from decades ago to current), even major network ones, that are far better shows than either of the finalists. West Wing, Seinfeld, Mash, All in the Family, Lost, Carol Burnett Show, Tonight show with Carson, Cheers, Star Trek TNG, Arrested Development... are all network shows I'd rather have DVD sets of when stuck on a desert island than the finalists.
