yete Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 come free-agent day for the love of god get a sniper on this team ........ i been saying it from the start the 2nd line needs a legit sniper ........ and i know you guys going to say a sniper is hard to find........ well look back to new york - gaborik was there sniper they won 1 -goal games canucks have no legit sniper no real game changer.... so gillis for the love of god make a trade that makes sense and grab some offence!!!!! this GM loves being the center of attention by making horrible trades at the draft well for once make a trade that this fanbase can cheer too.. smithers joe Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 he won't have a lot of cap space to get a high profile scorer, unless they can trade booth, burrows or kesler....it may take a couple of years for gillis to fill all the holes.....he can sign tanev, schroeder, lapierre, a tough guy and a third line center.... Plum Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 We aren't contenders anymore, we won't be. We can still be a playoff team just not the favourites. We have 8 million in cap space with Ballard and Schneider gone. We still have to resign Lain,Weise,Tanev,Alberts, and maybe some more depth players. That can take up to 3-5 milllion. With all the depth in our lineup we would have about 2-3 million in cap space but that's not enough for a sniper. Jensen is probably our best chance at a sniper in our lineup or Shinkaruk.
