Horvat will be that clutch guy we have all been waiting for

Gillis did the best he could do given the circumstances.

Unfortunately,he was the architect of those circumstances.

A top 10-20 NHL goalie with eight years in the Canucks system for an 18 year old prospect is not helping the Canucks win now-as Cory was doing in a major way.

That being said, our future does look very bright with Horvat, Shinkaruk, Jensen, Gaunce, Kassian, and Schroeder up front, with Corrado, Tanev, Mcnally patrolling the blue line, and Läck, Eriksson, and Cannata.

Without forgetting that Luongo was suddenly stopped from contributing is elite fashion, great goaltending rarely seen in the history of hockey, which to me, becomes a moot point as the return of Luongo cancels the "contribution" Schneider provided.

Therefore, Horvat helping immensely within the next three years does provide help for this team, and at the much needed position nonetheless; a position of lesser importance than goaltending with Luongo on net.

MG has been plucking some real playoff performers of late, which is what we need.

Horvat seems as clutch as they get with that final second goal he scored, huge pressure moment, huge goal.

Jensen put up some impressive numbers in the AHL scoring in the playoffs a season ago.

Gaunce absolutely tore up the playoffs.

Swedish goalie Eriksson had outstanding playoff numbers, far better than his regular season stats.

NO matter how you look at it we had to trade Schneider to get Horvat and Shinkaruk. I doubt we would have gotten shink or even taken him without the Horvat pick. 1 trade to reset give our team some hope going forward for the first time in a while, and all we did is take a guy who sits on the bench half the time and give to a team we play twice a year. Where, unfortunately for him, he may still be sitting on the bench half the time.

We got to highly skilled cerebral players by moving a piece we had to move to get under the cap. Bo is the type of player that improves all the time. His work ethic seems second to none in the draft, he wants to get better more than most guys in the top 10, and quite possibly will.

I'm excited to see how he stacks up against the other C's in the draft. Particularly Monahan, mostly because Calgary could have taken Horvat and Shinkaruk instead of Monahan and Poirier Lol.

If we come out ahead after all is said and done, it will be painful to see cow town having to go up against Horvat and Shink all the time in the Pacific. :)

The first Shinkaruk to Horvat or vice versa game winner over Calgary will be a laugh

Very bright?

Schroeder has scored 3 NHL goals and Kassian is a third liner with Tanev and Corrado depth D but not scorers.

The scoring depth is long gone-CoHo and Grabner-as are the two second round picks and first rounder for Ballard.

Gillis has achieved an excellent record at giving away the future for the present. Now the present is not good enough.
