Thole still sucks, the guy is supposed to catch the Knuckle Ball, but he drops so many why does he have to be the only catcher for Dickey, other catchers can do the same job and be a better threat in the line up.

Because Thole is willing to catch it. Dickey destroys peoples catching hand with his pitching.

Scheduled starter for the game on Wed against Mariners is Dickey. So I have to see Thole play. Hopefully that changes.

You'll probably see Sanchez

So is the season still over?

I'll be more convinced that the Jays have turned it around when I start seeing some shorter swings at the plate (especially with 2 strikes).  They haven't had used the strategy all year and it's incredibly frustrating as we saw what the offence was capable of last year.  It's not just the strikeouts.  It's the lazy fly balls to the opposite field on an inside pitch, or the easy ground ball to the pull side on the low/outside pitch all because players won't cut back on their swings and the opposing pitchers know it.

Xbox said it: The idea is to keep the #1 and #2 guys healthy. Catching the knuckler takes a physical toll on the catcher and the last thing we need is to see Martin injured because he caught the ball on the thumb, instead of the pocket.

If the team can't win with one sub-par bat in the lineup, then they're not good enough anyway.

I think we saw a bit of that in the opening game of the series. Both Bats and JD were going the other way with pitches. It was really quite encouraging.

We didn't see as much of it last night because Weaver has so little velocity.

Escobar is such a punk...I was so glad when the jays ditched his arse...this game isnt Lirianos fault...with all the dumb fielding plays and no run production its no wonder.

Travis with another base running brain fart- the exact same one he made about a week ago. I think it was the first out of the inning again too.

Honestly, this time, I'll give him a pass.  This team has been so incredibly, brain numbingly inept at moving runners over sometimes you have to take a chance.

Yeah but regardless I don't think you make the first out st third base with the meat of the order coming up. Talk about neutering your run producers. They had the best RBI man in the league coming up to bat. Granted, Edwin struck out but hindsight is 20/20.

I should add, you shouldn't make the first (or the last) out at third base at just about any time. Sometimes the team is desperate and you have to try, sure. Sometimes you try to advance and a fielder just makes an outstanding play, that happens too. Neither were the case this time.

You have to realize I guess he is basically a rookie.....I guess he will have to learn these things...I already see a little more patience in his double plays instead of rushing them and throwing the ball awa when he is to late.....he is such a good hitter you have to look past these mistakes.

I don't know, I don't think that's really a rookie thing. That's two pretty elementary rules he broke- don't make the first/third out at third base and don't advance to third as an unforced runner on a groundball to short unless the ball is behind you or you can get it behind you.
