GMJB
He reminds me of Dustin Brown but with better speed.
Warhippy
It's funny how the people so happy about the return for Kesler and Garrison are griping about the picking of Virtanen. HAd we gotten better return maybe we'd have chosen differently. but as such we picked a local boy, solid scoring threat awesomely fast winger with SO much potential to grow based on his skill and his age. So hey, some aren't happy about the return for Kesler and Garrison, some aren't happy about the pick we JUST made. But at least we can ALL be miserable together. PS....calling him a bust already, grow the hell up seriously he's 17 years old he'll recover quickly
Popular Post Warhippy
The tears of bitterness are keeping me fueled and happy right now. A bust, a horrible pick has a shoulder injury....laughable. Listen he is OUR highest picked prospect since the twins. he is OUR local boy and he is OUR future LW scoring threat after Shinkaruk Get behind him or go cheer for another team.
touchable
Really excited about this pick! I love the fact that he's a BC boy and grew up idolizing Markus Naslund. His shot does kind of remind you of Naslund, and he's not afraid to go to the net or run over defensemen in the corner. At the very worst, I think he'll be a David Booth (pre-injuries) type player, but he has the potential to be even better. That being said though, there's almost no chance he'll be on the team this year, with his injury preventing him from playing preseason. He should be able to dominate in Junior next year and develop his defensive game too.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
Wasn't my first pick, and I still have my doubts, but I'm going to trust Benning on this one Edited June 28, 2014 by Lonny_Bohonos_14
canucksVSflames89
Why do people on CDC just look at stats? Have you guys even seen him play? If not keep the negativity to yourselves, he's going to be scoring goals like crazy. Ahhh, boo hoo. Are your feelings being hurt by our negativity? Simple fact is that we left exceptional skill on the table when we drafted virtanen. And just so you know, stats DO matter. He is a high risk low reward player, whereas nylander/ehlers are high risk high reward.

Gyllenhaal
The best skater in the draft and one of the best goal scorers! Happy to have him on our team!
TheSecretIsMe
He'll be a good player. He's big, fast, and can shoot the puck very well and seeing where the game is headed I think he fits right in. Canucks will have a bright future ahead with the picks they're making and if all goes well with our drafting next season and the following I believe many of the posters here will eat their words. Canucks fans have always been bandwagoners...reminds of the Miami Heat fanbase. Believe in Blue Baby!

ShadyAce5
We needed a goal scoring winger and we got a great pick! He's built for western conference hockey (unlike some of the other players people are whining about). Any of the guys ranked 6-10 have some question marks surrounding them. Looking forward to seeing how it pans out in 3-4 years.
Popular Post HerrDrFunk
Kid had shoulder surgery a month ago; he's already not wearing a sling and has full range of motion again. He's been projected for a late September return. By some people's logic, Yzerman should have taken Stamkos out back and shot him after he broke his leg. They picked the guy immediately after major surgery that should tell you something. Edited June 28, 2014 by Dogbyte
Wonder__Bread
I think we picked him too high, but I'm really excited that we picked him. Can't wait to see him light it up for the hometown crowd!
BananaMash
He's certainly got an interesting skill set. I still think it might have been a little high for him, but that look of excitement on his face was something else.
