Bure to Mogilny
So this is are 5th part of player discussions and this one is for Richardson. He signed last year as a canuck to a two year contract. A career bottom six centre is good at facoffs penalty kills and checker. Coming off a good year for him this is is contract year now so what do people think. Theres a lot of competition in the bottom 6 for spots and he could be 3 or 4th line probably 4th? But will he be a guy gone at the end of the year or traded in the season? is his game necesary for are team? are we deep enough with bottoms six? Or is he a important guy that great teams need cause of his determines and other good qualitys?
TheRussianRocket.
He's the closest replacement we've had since the loss of Malhotra (injury). Imo, we keep him as a bottom 6 player who sets the tone for the 3rd and 4th lines who can be depended on in numerous situations and a great mentor and leader in the locker room. 3C who is humble enough to play 4C for us. No brainer.
Guest Dasein
He's our only defensive specialist if Bo isn't up to the task. Crucial to the team and will eat all the heavy minutes he can to free up our top 6 for a few favourable matchups. People also forget he was buried in LA behind their massive center depth two years ago when we acquired him via UFA. He is the only player on the Canuck roster with a Stanley Cup ring. Rings are over rated. Is he better than having Sundin on the team? He has one more ring.
clee
Richardson does all the small things correctly. Can kill penalties and even score short handed. Keep him.

Outsiders
He is the perfect 4th line centre 20 + points for a 4th liner is really good, plus plays good defence and is not a liability

CRAZY_4_NAZZY
He is a leader on this team. Richy is probably the best PK player we have on this team. His experience and ability to be so versatile do us well. Feisty, quick and reliable. He is a great fourth line center who can effectively jump into a third line center role whenever needed. He was overplayed too much last year, give him some less but more qulaity defensive mins and he will play with more energy.
Hairy Kneel
faceoffs n' pk, lunch bucket pro we need on the bottom 6, and for others to emulate if they want to have ice time on the bottom 6. He's no longer a new guy so I would expect him to shoulder some of the leadership responsibilities. He's consistent and should remind others to be as well. No brainer. I don't know about 'humble' enough. He's a 3C on Chicago but not even a 4C on LA. I'd say he's a 4C who can PK.

Which means he is worse than all four of LA's centers. Richardson is a great 4th line center and a good 3rd line center. I like him but he is not as great of a player as some on this board seems to think. In fact, I think he will not re-sign with us beyond this season, just don't see him as a long term Canuck player. Provost
If we have a couple of young guys who push for spots (unlikely, but possible), Richardson is a prime candidate to be moved. Benning wants a tougher identity in his bottom 6 in general. We have Matthias,Vey, Gaunce, and Lain who can all play centre in the bottom 6. I suspect however that not only will there be NO big push from the prospects, but an injury or two will make us glad we have Richardson around still. JeremyCuddles
He was probably the best Canuck forward last season. I'd say that was Santo personally, but with injuries Richardson was probably our most consistent. Along side Higgins. It's hard to replace a Richardson. I think he's a lock for the 4th line. It's a battle for 3rd line centre in my books.
ThaManbeast
Solid, reliable, leader, PK, faceoffs, expirience. Just a few words that come to mind when thinking of Richardson. If you think he should be moved you're way off base. He's the type of player any team would love in their bottom six.
Chalky
Willie D spoke highly of him today on 1040. 4th line center with depth to be 3rd.
