BanTSN
Hate to say it, but so far Button isn't looking that far off on Virtanen. So far, and I hope he ends up being wrong. Button is an idiot, or he is being paid to say things that are wrong on purpose. Either way, it's best if you don't believe him.
messier's_elbow
But then Button hated virtanen last year and ranked him 43rd! So if you want to trust button you have to hope he's wrong on virtanen.Even worse... He had him in the 40s then at 6th overall right before the draft? He's an idiot. messier's_elbow
Craig Button has said time in and time out that when he ranks his prospects, it isn't based on where they will go in the draft. The rankings to him are based on where they will end up in the NHL compared to the rest of prospects. Obviously Button saw and viewed 42 prospects would end up having more favourable careers over Virtanen. Nothing wrong with it.So 42 players in 2014 draft will be better then Jake? Hahahaha yeah ok

If we aren't in a playoff position by the deadline we should sell to the highest bidder.
Nave
But probaly won't turned into a frightened kitten in the playoffs. lol. He was really clutch last season so I still want to resign him. But man, he was a disappointment in the playoffs
C.Schneider
Yeah vrbata sucked in the playoffs. If we aren't in a playoff position by the deadline we should sell to the highest bidder. If anything that playoff performance plummeted Vrbata's deadline value. A pick-up at deadline means the team is wanting extra help for the playoff... and Vrbata doesn't bring that. We could probably get more from a team wanting the extra push to make the playoff.
DeNiro
Vrbata is a good support player, but he's not a guy who can carry the load offensively like we expected him to do here. It's pretty easy to shut a team down when they only have a few offensive threats. He still led the team in points along with the Sedins (4 PTS in 6 GP). Adding him to an already strong top 6 would be a good move for any team looking for more scoring. He should definitely command a 1st round pick at the deadline if Benning can close a deal. This isn't a bad thing, teams fighting for the playoffs should result in a higher draft pick versus a contender. Just hope the team he is traded to chokes to boost our pick. Mathew Barzal
But probaly won't turned into a frightened kitten in the playoffs. To be honest, who didn't see that coming? He was there to provide enough secondary scoring to get us into the playoffs and that's what he did. I think he served his purpose well.

Sure, but mewing in the face of the 2nd smallest team in the league was a bit much. Perhaps he was just injured -- that at least would be a good story for when it comes selling time at the TDL. Yeah he wasn't that bad. Got 4 points. Was just disappointing. I'd like to keep Vrbata, but... he did jus turn 34.
Nave
Yeah listen to the people on cdc instead Button is a known sensationalist, but it's still exciting he had Boeser at 9th. With Virtanen, he expressed a lot of intrigue--just didn't know what to think about him
