Relying on a rookie center and a struggling sophomore to be the catalysts of your secondary scoring. Vrbata is nothing without a good center. I get that yeah he makes dumb mistakes at times but this team did the same crap with Tort's then we fired him now fire Willie? When are we going to start holding the players accountable? Bet you the outcome is much different. Pleanty of injuries, pitiful defense, no second line, the team is in a rebuild/retool phase and you expect this guy to win a stanley cup? Get your head/heads out of your arses. The young guys are in no need to be rushed in developing, hence why Virtanen is going to WJC and perhaps McCann aswell. This team is going to need a couple years to work out the kinks and get back on track. Unless he's being instructed to intentionally lose games, that is enough to suggest the guy has no ability to identify an NHLer. If I have to explain to you how WD has been a bad coach, then you are one of the lost ones. His constant errors with the PP, line changes, lack of timeout usage etc. He is by know means the only culprit, but he is the easiest, most immediate change possible. SaintPatrick33 Posted December 16, 2015 Share Posted December 16, 2015 It really doesnt matter right now. We have no chemistry on 2nd and 3rd lines, the Sedins questions our system structure. Ride Willie out for the year, then see if we can create an identity in the offseason. Add to this list the vets that Willie relied on last year, Higgins Burrows Verby Edler Tanev Hammer have all been horrible this year, so much for showing the kids how to play. Absolutely no push back. Thing is if Torts could not toughen up this "core", then nobody will.
