[Report] Tanev's younger brother - Brandon - garnering serious NHL interest

Recommended Posts

24 Years old, related to Chris Tanev, putting up some college points? If he's half as dedicated as his brother seems to be, he'll be a solid middle 6 player in 2-3 seasons for us.

If he's willing, and we're able, let's see what he can do.

A speedy spark plug LW might actually fit well in this team's system.   Drafted big, pwf RWs a few years running to fill a need.

Could be the next Burr.  Two way undrafted gem.

Hopefully Chris is in his ear about how great this franchise is and how sweet the west coast life is.

He already knows about the west coast life, he played for the Surrey Eagles .... Another reason, besides his brother being here that he might be interested in signing with Vancouver

They should be trying to sign Troy Stecher from UND before they sign any more forwards.

yup, having a good college year, saw him twice in Penticton also.

Is there a list posted somewhere of college available players who are able to sign pro contracts? specifically D men?

No space for him on the Canucks any time soon but I'd be more than happy to see what he can do in Utica.

I would say we have the upper hand in signing him. The convenience of travel, the support of an older brother.

This kid is so signed

It's too bad we don't need him.

Then again, sometimes you never know what you need until you get it.

Worst case is he gets to play in Utica and make some money.

He looks like a solid third line prospect.

Doesn't put up big numbers but enough to make a significant contribution. Looks defensively dependable, making him a prime candidate for the PK.

Sign him to an AHL contract, give him a season or two to prove himself and who knows. Could work into a great future.
