I understand that there are seniors on this forum.

I think this video is targeting the 20-40 year olds out there like most other music videos.

If you think something is trash, it doesn't mean others do as well. Disappointing that some people have so much negativity inside of them that they forget to admire the beauty behind things. I hope you well.

This video is more likely targeting the 12-25 age range.

I have to agree with @Dr.Strangelove

I like the song, but the video is just them twerking, grinding, drinking, smoking, etc. It doesn't even fit the song.

Think about it, there's no substance, no story.

What do kids like to do at that age? Drink, have sex, try smoking, etc. Lets make a music video with all of those things in it.

It's a video designed for views.

Because views = sales.

Simple as that.

I honestly like her voice but I think her songs are wasted. It gets her paid so shes doing it right for the time period but I feel it would fit so much better for other things.

Drake is also starting to look like DJ Khaled.

To the OP's credit...we were asked to give our opinions on the video...not the artist.

Of course the age old debate of who's a better artist will rage on until the end of time...some prefer Rihanna, some prefer Pink Floyd, some prefer Mozart...heck some even listen to the Biebs...comes down to personal taste and mood.

I NEVER judge an artist by a music video...they are nothing but over-dubbed, over-produced, over-hyped dribble designed to get you to download the same version in your preferred portable music format.

Go to a concert. Led Zeppelin (mentioned above) were horrible live...ever been to a Hip concert? What the heck is Gordy on?

On the other hand I recently got a chance to see Johnny Dee and Honeymoon Suite...still rockin' it! The current tour (Big and Wide) with Big Sugar and Wide Mouth Mason prove that those guys can rock it live too. I've never been to a pop concert, but from what I see + hear it seems to be more about the stage production (occasionally even resorting to lip-syncing) than it is about the quality of the singer's voice...just from what I see of live recordings...but again I won't judge pop vs. rock vs. hi-hop etc...to each their own.

I agree 100% on Nirvana other two are overrated but still good imo

I hope you guys are kidding...

Dark Side Of The Moon is timeless - as a matter of fact, I was listening to it last night, not once but twice....

Music today isn't Scottish...and you know what they say, If it isn't Scottish it's _____!!!! ;)

On this day in 1975,   Led Zeppelin released their sixth album Physical Graffiti in the UK. Recording sessions had been disrupted when bassist and keyboard player John Paul Jones had proposed quitting the band, supposedly to become choirmaster at Winchester Cathedral, England, although in reality he just needed time to rest after Zeppelin's demanding tour schedule. The group decided on a double album so they could feature songs left over from their previous albums Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV and Houses Of The Holy. I think Pink Floyd sucks. They're the most overrated band in history. Nirvana is grossly overrated too. Led Zeppelin's got like, two good songs.

I'd rather listen to the song posted.

So, Rihanna is trying to be Snoop Lion?

As a 25 year old, I did not like this, Rihanna mumbling like a tard and a bunch of drunk/stoned whores dancing around, Nothing I wouldn't see on a Saturday night. She AND Drake, have done much better.

I dislike this, but here's some music I do like right now ^_^

I don't know...there are a lot of people doing genuinely artistic things with music videos out there especially if you look outside the top 40. The overly commercial type music video tends to match up with the overly commercial music.

I'm not saying this as a person who reflexively hates on Top 40 either, I can appreciate it on it's own terms to a point but let's face it, your Sam Smith's and Ed Sheeran's and Taylor Swift's of the world, however talented they are, are not out there to push the boundaries of creativity in any way.

OP asked us to give our opinion. So if people like/dislike it, he should be prepared for it.

My take? Well, I'm 33 not 13, so I don't like or watch music videos. So for a music video, it was about as bad as they usually are.

As for the music? The older I've gotten, the less snobby I've become in my music tastes. That said, I've never liked Rihanna's music, and this song is about as interchangeable as every other pop artist out there. So, not very good.
