IMO the Canucks had better put a call in to the |Laffers at least they seem to have something right. Sit some of the vets and play the kids. Drafting between #3 - #5 is essential for the Canucks. Suggestions by some that drafting up to #10 is just as good need a head shake. Some on here seem to think there is enough talent on this roster that they can be contenders next year. That is also a fantasy. If the Canucks are extremely lucky they will have a core in another 2 - 3 years.

Henrik, Edler, Sutter, Tanev -- all sitting!

Unless perhaps they lose all three games to the Oilers, Canucks probably won't make the bottom three.  After that, the 4-12 picks are much more of a debated order, no "head-shaking" required.  Nothing wrong with picking anywhere from 5-10; we're going to get a very good player no matter what.  Players never turn out in the exact order they are picked.

According to the odds, it's more likely than not that a team outside the top-3 will jump into one of those spots.  Which means, whoever finishes in the 3rd seed ends up getting bumped out.

For Nikita the optimum game to come in for will be the game against the Jets. They aren't the fastest team and they have a lot of big bodies.

Back to this game, is it just me or does a win make the whole team seem happier, for example it was nice to see that smile on Markstrom's face and the enthusiasm in the locker room.

It is funny to see people bash Shinkaruk when he was NEVER GIVEN THE CHANCE TO PLAY WITH THE BIG CLUB. That is true is it not?

Tell you what -- once Shinkaruk actually starts playing NHL GAMES, come back and talk.  in the meantime, we're going to watch our NHL players, one of which just scored the game-winning goal tonight.

Tryamkin cannot play in Utica this season -- his signing came after the deadline.  He is with the Canucks for the rest of the way.

He's not even here yet, let alone getting in practice time.  Even if he looks great and fully ready, he's still at least a week away.  It's not only a new team but a whole new league but whole new country.

Just relaying what Benning said today on TSN1040.  I think the papering is only for the playoffs so he should be able to play during the regular season.  He just thinks that if he needs time to adjust it might be best for him to play a few games in Utica but he'll start with the Canucks to see where he is at.

We are only dressing 4 vets in the forward position, Daniel, Vrbata, Dorsett, and Burrows and in my opinion 3/4 of them are better for the tank in the lineup than out of it.

This is my 13th year on this board, seen it all. But this season is truly the first time I've ever seen this whole 'tanknation'  crap so pervasive. And it is insulting to all long term and loyal Canucks fans. Not to mention our team on the ice.

As a long term loyal fan you should want whats best for the team.

Whats best for this team right now is a high draft pick whether you've come to terms with it or not.

No one is looking down on the Hawks for tanking now that they have 3 cups in 6 years.

A game winner that was gift wrapped to him. Make sure you don't change your name I'm coming after you once shinkaruk becomes a regular.

I guess we should be impressed. In seven games, 1 goal, 1 assist.

At least he's made an NHL roster. Shinkaruk on the other hand is buried in the minors on the 4th worst team in the NHL. Calgary would rather play all stars Lance Bouma and Brandon Bollig on left wing with their combined 3 goals on the year than call up Shinkaruk. Interesting.
