He's a good coach, he will land somewhere.

Vancouver? Got to think Willie's leash is pretty short this year...

Ottawa bound?

I think if he plays his cards right, he winds up in Boston by next year.

Ottawa, Minnesota, Boston or Montreal is my guess

Honestly, not shocking given their first half of the season and the playoffs.  but at the same time....kinda have to blame management a shade too for not shoring up that defense and that still suspect goaltending

I don't think goaltending has been their issue. Both Gibson and Andersen are good tendys. Gotta look at the scoring drying up this year. Looks like losing Belesky was huge.

BB seems like a good guy but has never been able to get it done in the playoffs.

Anaheim should have gone deep, but they ran into a STRONG Nashville team.

BB will get a job, and do well there until playoffs.

Anaheim is in for a rude awakening with their cap and RFAs. Calgary needs to take a run at Andersson.

Goaltending was never a problem. I don't know why people say this. This has been such a farcical myth since it started.

Freddy Andersen's playoff stats: 3W - 2 L, 1SO, .947SV% 1.41 GAA

Freddy Andersen regular season stats: 22W - 9L - 7OT, 3SO, .919SV% 2.30GAA

John Gibson playoff stats: 0W-2L, .900SV%, 3.08GAA

John Gibson regular season stats: 21W-13L-4OT, 4SO, .920SV% 2.07GAA

Those are some fantastic regular season numbers. The only blip is Gibson's playoff stats, and seeing how Andersen played afterwards, one of the biggest "what if" questions for them should be What if Boudreau started Andersen instead of Gibson in Game 1?

That falls on the coach. He took a gamble, and lost.

But do we want a coach who has only won 1 game 7 out of 8 attempts?

He won't be out of work for long.  Has the league already implemented the new rule to deny compensation for hiring a coach still under contract?

I can see any number of teams firing their coach to land Boudreau.

Funnily enough, the one team that immediately springs to my mind is Columbus.

Guess he becomes a front runner for the Senators job now.  With people like Crow and Boucher also mentioned on that list, and with Melnyk stating that the next coach would have significant NHL experience, I think he has a good shot to take over that team. Would be a good fit imo.
