Would like to see Horvat with Jensen in the next game and see if they've got any chemistry together. Maybe try this and scratch Richardson for a game:

Sedin - Sedin - Vbrata

Higgins - Bonino - Burrows

Dorsett - Matthias - Vey

Jensen - Horvat - Hansen

Matthias, Richardson, and Vey each have 3 points and are +4, +3, and +3 respectively in the past 2 games. Personally, I wouldn't change that line (or scratch Richardson) for the sake of "seeing if a couple rookies can find chemistry on the fourth line".

You say that as if Drouin is going to be riding the pine on the 4th line all year.

Drouin's average TOI is 14:40 with an average of 1:27 on the PP. Bo's average TOI through two games is 7:37 with 0:26 on the PK. That's almost double, and Drouin has only one game where he played under 10 minutes by 2 seconds.

Drouin's played the last few games on the 4th line, but that doesn't mean he's a 4th liner. This is rather normal for any young NHLer - there are growing pains and they have to earn their ice time. For example, there are 10 games in Steven Stamkos's rookie season where his TOI was in single digits (1/8 of the season), 23 games where he played below 12 minutes (1/4 of the season), and 39 games where he played under 14 minutes - that's almost half his rookie season.

The point is, Drouin is a top 9 rookie foward who is learning to earn his ice time in the NHL. He'll will be back up in a top 9 role in no time, but that's not the case for Bo.

The difference is, Bo is starting on the 4th line, and he'll remain on the 4th line. His offense is limited and could improve by playing in junior. I think it's far more beneficial for Bo and the Canucks in the long run if Bo returns to junior, play at the WJC and works on his offensive game rather than stay here and stunt his offensive potential playing 10 minutes per game or sitting in the press box.

So now Horvat is playing very well and producing offensively. While Drouin is struggling offensively, getting no PP time and getting scratched.

Now do you think the Lightning should send Drouin down to work on his game?

At this rate I see Horvat in the top 9 before Drouin.

LOL how cute that you bring up a post from a month ago.

Horvat is producing offensively? He has points in just 3 of 12 games. Drouin has produced in 7 of 18 games. Horvat has 5 points in 12 games while Drouin has 9 in 18. Obviously the expectations are higher for Drouin than Bo to produce, but struggles are normal for most offensive dynamos learning to play in the NHL.

Like I said before, even TBL's franchise player Steven Stamkos didn't put it together until the second half of his rookie season and his entire rookie season was mired with inconsistency. What Drouin is experiencing is rather normal for any junior offensive juggernauts adjusting to the NHL.

I've mentioned elsewhere that there's a decent chance that TBL will send Drouin to the WJC because they are so deep and that they've done it before (with Brett Connolly). Whether we send Bo or not will depend on the amount of injuries we have - if we are at full health, there is a slight chance that they send him.

So it was less then a month ago you thought Bo would be playing less then 10 min. or in the press box and on the 4th line all season...wrong already on the first 2 and already depends on the night for the last, besides which "their are no line numbers",

only ranked by minutes played.

By mid season Bo's minutes won't be in the bottom 3 for forwards.

...just watch...

Sorry still just averaging under 10 minutes per game.

By 18 whole seconds!

Yeah well certainly bound to change as the year goes since he won't be in many of those 5 minute games anymore. Playing well against PIT again tonight.
