Brobidus
Wow Benning must really believe in Megna and Chaput to back us up. Sucks for Utica. It sucks that we can't keep up the talent down in our farm.
RakuRaku
As expected, JB would never listen to CDC and pick up any useful players on waivers... maybe he knows something we don't - Megna and Chaput due for a career season OR Management doesn't care if there are more empty seats! Having watched Chaput play, he seems to be really be finding his niche. He isn't amazing by any stretch of the imagination but he isnt awful either... and that's a good thing for a call up to be. Besides, any waiver claim the Canucks make would have to stay up in Vancouver. You can't use the waiver wire to bolster Utica, it's not how waivers works. I think most of us in here want us to claim Boucher to be up in the NHL while we can send one of Megna or Chaput down to the AHL to bring back some depth to Utica since they most likely need it. They don't require waivers so why not grab another early 20s player looking to make his mark in the NHL. Another project player. Maybe he'll turn into a Baertschi for us as he is an RFA after this season

JeremyCuddles
Never much liked youngish players with offensive potential. Only "200 foot complete" players. You know, the exciting players.
mll
And he is back with the Devils. He was put on waivers yesterday by the Predators.

They were talking about Chaput's Calder Cup win last year and how big a part he played in that. AT 24 he is in a good age group. Megna might have a higher offensive upside but he struggles with timing. If a guy like that ever starts banging them in he could be something. Sadly we did It is the Jim Benning & Trevor Linden way. Pat Quinn would have doubled down in a heartbeat an grabbed players who he thought would improve the team. He fits the missing age group criteria that Jim has made as his composit make up. kinda ironic these players who have offensive skill an upside are popping up now ,while we have our trusty AHL plug grinders. Hoosierdaddy
Not that it matters but is there an order to which guy goes through the waiver list first? Between Rattie and Boucher for example ... did we pass on Rattie and then take Boucher?
Mackcanuck
Reid Boucher: 12 goals and 18 assists in 85 career games. 5'10" 195 lbs 23-year-old LW from Lansing, MI. Arb eligible this year.

Welcome aboard Reid an rip it up this may be your last chance to legitimize your game here in Van take no prisoners.
mll
What a month for Boucher. Claims off waivers by Nashville. Gets sent to Milwaukee on a conditioning assignment. In 5 games - 4 goals and 1 assist. Back to Nashville. Plays 3 games for an average of 8:45 - 1 goal. Gets put on waivers. Back to NJ - couldn't be sent directly to the AHL because another team had put in a claim. Was still put back on waivers with the hope to get him to the AHL. And now headed to Vancouver.
