CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Podkolzin's line on for a goal against, but lucky Podkolzin wasn't on the ice due to a sloppy line change by Russia.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Russia's defense makes a lot of risky and poor passes on the blueline. No wonder Podkolzin and some of his Russian forward teammates have to be so defensively sound. The defense for Russia makes a lot of careless plays which hurt their offensive game.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Not much to report on Podkolzin and his line. Half way into the third and has seen only 3 shifts so far and all rather short ones too. Larionov seems to be running his full four lines but using a lot of his fourth line and leading the charge is his young center Vasili Ponomaryov. This is my issue. Seems every single conversation starts with this, and has for a long stretch of time. It's not a small thing to me. Yes , it's great he brings something else to the table, but he was drafted to be a point producer ontop of the " little things ". This needs to start changing in a big way for him to be what he was drafted to be. Edited January 2, 2021 by cuporbust
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Russia seems to be a little lacksadaiscal overall in this period. Not generating much offensively and allowing a lot of back and forth skating with Germany which is dangerous. Not sure why they are taking a passive approach, should've continued pouring on the pressure. Germany is back in this game and looks to be swaying some of the momentum in their favor. Context begs to differ on that statement. Podkolzin's had a strong strong game. If you look purely at numbers you lose out on the context of how strong Podkolzin has played today against Germany. Everything he has done has led to beneficiary of his linemates and other subsequent lines. As I stated before the tournament started, Podkolzin won't rack up points, its his hard work and dedicated work ethic will lead to others benefitting. Its frustrating yes to not have him have more points, but overall you cannot be displeased with Podkolzin. Nor can you expect every prospect to be point generators. Pettersson, Hughes will shoulder that load, Podkolzin is a different breed where he becomes the heart and soul of the team. 4

That's essentially what it looks like right now. 1 1

Popular Post Millsy
Podz making that pass from behind the net to the slot is exactly what those who only look at points miss. It was a perfect feed, the player shooting was 10 feet from Net and has the upper top right wide open. He flubs the shot, it goes over the net. if that’s Bo, Petey, Boeser, Miller, JV, etc it’s in the net. Gonna be fun watching this kid. It’s too bad he doesn’t play Center because I think he and Boeser would be fun to watch. He plays like Bo but sees the ice better. 2 2
-DLC-
Cup or bust. Explains it all. Just check to see the results to determine good/bad. But there's so much more that you miss in between..... Entire hockey games not just win/lose.
