aGENT
The Avalanche are happy to nominate the following players for awards: Vezina Trophy - Carter Hart With a solid 2.42 GAA and 0.914 SV% the young 21 year old net minding phenom continues to be one of the key players on his team for wins. Lady Byng Trophy - Mathew Barzal Mathew has continued his high level of play, leading his team offensively while only drawing 44 PIM's this season. Calder Trophy - Joel Farabee We fully expect this will go to the outstanding Hughes (whom we also proudly drafted) but Joel also had a stellar season putting up 21 points in only 52 games while playing solid two way hockey and remaining a plus 6. Norris Trophy - Ivan Provorov We're fortunate enough that we could arguably have three Norris candidates any given year but with 36 points in 69 games, 24:51 ATOI, plus 11 and 52.4 CF% in 46.7 oZS%, the 23 year old defenseman's two way play speaks for itself. Primal Optimist
The New York Rangers are pleased to showcase to the league the incredible talent in the Big Apple. Among the legends at Madison Square Garden, we are incredibly proud to suggest to the esteemed voting panel of fellow GM's the NYR's Selke Trophy Nominee and the Lady Bing Trophy Nominee: Ryan O'Reilly Selke/Lady Bing Trophy - For your humble consideration, Ryan O'Reilly. 26th highest Penalty Kill minutes in the league, leads the league in Face Offs taken, 57.4 even strength face offs won. Most importly wins more than half his short handed face offs taken, a key stat to keep the biscuit out of the basket on the PK. 593 defensive zone faceoffs, the highest amount of all three zones for him to take FO's while winning 56.5% of them. WHile Ryan has the skills up front to pay the bills, his worth ethic, defensive play and commitment to the backcheck show up in almost every defensive forward stat column. The rangers are proud to put forward our very own Ryan O'Reilly, and I leave this with you for your consideration: You can't win from the sin bin. Ryan only put up 10 penalty minutes all season, a great feat for a player who led his team in ice time.
