Signing him means that we likely have to move out forwards. In which case, hopefully we could package Virtanen/Juolevi to drop a Sutter/Schaller/Eriksson somewhere. JB is very easily under some pressure to do multiple things correct here. Let's see if he can pass that test or once again, fall below the mark and leave us disappointed. JB has been killing it this off season... 4

What I'm going by is that at the time of the draft (June 2021), a player with a NMC has to be protected. Ferland's NMC expires in July 2021 when a M-NTC becomes active. I suppose it's not too important a point, as Ferland will likely be one of the guys on the Canucks' protected list (based on the current roster). regards, G. Devron
Funny I’ve seen things on the web about injury history with Ferland. The guys played 70 plus games every year the past 4 years. Am I missing something? Heck if the Canucks had half their roster hit 70 games that’s a good year. I mean that’s not saying much as the injuries we’ve had has been crazy but 4x 70 games! What am I missing here

Players on expiring NMCs don't have to be protected. Seattle is scheduled to enter the league for the 2021/22 season. Only players with NMCs for that season have to be protected. 4 2
PhillipBlunt
I’m finding that the only people whining about this signing are the same moronic blogger weasels like Grady Sas and Dmitri Filipovic who have no real understanding of the game and merely follow it from a statistical angle.
Elias Pettersson
12 hours later I still love this deal!!!! Still can't believe we got Ferland and at only $3.5 million. Love you JB...

Players still got to perform but JB is swinging for the fences in his final year. It won’t be his final year. In Benning We Trust.

Oh and Hughes. Exactly Jimmy. That’s a serious off-season and the deals Benning’s made have been excellent. He’s added two productive, physically imposing players to the top six and added two productive and physically imposing players to the top four. And both Myers and Ferland were signed for less than speculated. How anyone can complain about that, let alone Miller and Benn, is beyond me. 3 1

He could literally be the second best addition to our team other than Petey since the Sedins…

Ryan Strome
It seems so long ago when MF was the most hated guy on cdc. Seriously though it's a great signing I see him easily scoring atleast 20 goals playing with EP or Horvat while providing energy. Very happy with how our forward group is looking. 1

Montreal....thats gotta sting for a few closet Habs fans on CDC. Who knows how the team will do, but it was a hard team to face on most nights last year. All of the additions make this team a lot harder to deal with, if we can get some &^@#ing injury luck I like our playoff chances a lot. But regardless, I expect some entertaining hockey and at the end of the day thats what I'm here for. 5
