-Baertschi gets traded to New Jersey for a 5th rounder.

-Schaller gets traded to Ottawa for a 7th rounder.

-Boeser signs for 4 years at 7 million per.

-Eriksson either gets moved next season (will only be owed 5 million in real dollars), or will get sent to Utica next season.

Ferland - Pettersson - Eriksson

Pearson - Horvat - Boeser

Miller - Sutter - Virtanen

Baertschi - Beagle - Leivo

Motte

Edler - Myers

Hughes - Tanev

Benn - Stecher

Fantenberg

Give Eriksson a chance to play with some talented linemates for a change. At the very least it will build up his stats for a trade deadline deal. Plus having Ferland on his line will give him a little more courage in the corners and we may see the player he once was again.

Miller would bitch like an HFCanucker if he had to start on the 3rd line here.......and justifiably so!

Except coach Green tends to use his third line as a matchup line. It often gets more ice time than the so-called top two lines.

Hindustan cliff notes:

1). Baertschi traded to NJ for a 5th

2). Schaller traded to Ottawa for a 7th

3). Canucks keep Eriksson for one more year (Post July 1st 2020, he either gets traded or will be buried in the minors.  Trading him post July 1st 2020 will be easier because he will only be owed 5 million in real dollars.  Retiring at this time might also become a more realistic option).

3 pronged attack:

Pearson-Pettersson-Boeser

Baertschi-Horvat-Virtanen

Miller-Gaudette-Ferland

Leivo-Beagle-Sutter

Edler-Stecher

Hughes-Myers

Benn-Tanev

Markstrom

Demko

I know the above lines are very unlikely to be used, but consider the following:

1) Horvat, Virtanen, and Baertschi have had some very good chemistry with one another in the past.

2) Gaudette:  IF the Canucks care about maximizing Gaudette’s development, then a strong argument can be made for giving Gaudette some solid offensive linemates so that Gaudette can take on more of an offensive role.   IF Gaudette comes into camp and shows that he’s improved, then wouldn’t it be in the Canucks’ best interests to give him some good offensive minded linemates?

I personally wouldn’t use this as my “flagship” line combos, but I’d consider throwing this out there on occasion.

What I would like:

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser

Miller brings good grit and puck retrieval to let the skilled guys score. Hoping we have a tough D man on the ice at all times to protect the kids.

Baertschi - Horvat - Pearson

Bo and Pearson can play gritty but Baertschi's skill and playmaking can really lift the two powerforwards offence.

Ferland - Sutter - Roussel

Hardest line to play against but also has skill, also this team can still use some veteran leadership which Sutter brings.

Leivo - Beagle - Virtanen

Gaudette

Eriksson (hopefully traded)

Goldobin

Motte

4th line will be a revolving door of whoever isn't consistent sits out. We've got plenty of depth up front to not need an AHL call up for a while in case of injuries. A very deep offence full of 40 point scorers.

Edler - Stecher

Great chemistry last year, let's see if Stecher can take his game to another level yet.

Hughes - Myers

Tanev could play alongside Hughes but I'd rather Myers protect him, also Myers is a surprisingly good skater who can keep up with him.

Benn - Tanev

Great shutdown duo who can play 20 mins easily when a top guy gets injured.

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser

Baertschi - Horvat - Pearson

Ferland - Sutter - Virtanen

Leivo/Motte - Beagle - Eriksson

I like the idea of Miller on that top line. Pretty complete player with 2 solid offensive minded guys. He’s proven to be a consistent 20 goal scorer over the years.

Added Baer on the second line to add more creativity to more north south type players.

I love the Ferland addition and this isn't a slight on his play but the idea of a true energy line with heavy and fast players with some offensive touch in Virtanen and Ferland gives me goosebumps.

Also agree with the defensive pairings you listed with Hughes and Myers getting the majority of the offensive draws, Benn and Tanev getting the majority of the defensive draws and Edler and Stecher being a solid 2nd option in either situation.

Miller Pete Boeser

Hughes Myers

Bae/Ferk Bo Pearson

Edler Stetcher

Ferk/Roussel Sutter Virtanen

Benn Tanev

I feel like that 3rd grouping will allow us to have a 4th line that will feast on weak matchups.

Bae/Leivo Beagle Goldobin/Motte

I like this composition of lineup best and feel it best suits Greens MO of rolling 4 lines each line has a defined role which allows Green to distribute the minutes accordingly and cash in on miss matches.

This Line up spreads our Depth even further. Second and Third line are interchangeable.

I don’t see this happening as I think Goldy doesn’t make the roster, but I’d kind of like to see what it could do...

Ferland Pete Miller

Bae Bo Brock(they meshed well as a 1b)

Pearson Sutter Virtanen

Leivo Beagle Motte

Edler Stetcher

Hughes Myers

Benn Tanev (shut down)

I think this gives green 4 lines he can roll and play each to their strengths. When Roussel returns I assume there will be room for 2 of him Goldy and Juolevi. I'd like to also see big Mac and Gaudette make their move into the lineup as spots become available but to start we need them in Utica.

Eriksson can go to Utica and earn a call back hes a 40pt guy but gotta light a fire under him first. No hate from me hes still an NHL caliber player I just want to see what we have in others first adversity will only help to see if he will sink or swim. And Utica could really use him. Come playoffs having him as re invigorated depth could be huge. I hope he may be traded but that's up to him to play well enough. I expect he will be a big contributor in Utica and a leader for those guys playing a premier role.

Ferland Pettersson Boeser

Miller Horvat Baertschi

Pearson Sutter Virtanen

Roussel Beagle Leivo

Pretty sure Ferland will be riding shotgun with Petey & Brock.

A few different call up options at F depending on what is needed, Motte Goldy Schaller

Bailey etc.

I"d like to upgrade 2RW though

*Cough trade Baertschi, Goldobin and the rights to Tryamkin to VGK for Tuch & Hague cough cough cough*

Ferland Pettersson Boeser

Miller Horvat Tuch

Pearson Sutter Virtanen

Roussel Beagle Leivo

* Faints

Edler Stecher

Hughes Myers

Benn Tanev

Hague Biega

At around Xmas Juolevi should be in the NHL(hopefully), Move Tanev to make room or waive Biega.
