Geez cuts coming, doctors sign letters, make threats, where have I seen this before? Oh ya, BC, Ontario and every other province.

And if we can't keep them we will use the Pence strategy.B)

Just pray it away and give everyone a dollop of some of that ethical oil.  In a pinch ask Angela Pitt for some of that compassion and kindness she says is available when financially viable :P

My daughter works in downtown Calgary at a dental firm. Their business is down almost 20% in 2 years. Been layoffs in their office. Dental insurance is running out so only absolute necessary work being done. She tells me her coworkers are all mad and many of them and their patients say they will vote Wexit.

When end I was at a conference in Van last month there were many AB oil people there. These people were talking about it as well. This is a big deal as having the money available makes a lot happen. Put it on a ballot and the number of Wexit votes will be shocking.

My impression is there is a wait and see on the report Kenney funded led by Preston Manning. His rep has been downgraded a lot and there isn’t much patience for his pro Canada sympathies. Kenney should know by now that he can be swept aside especially since that a provincial wing of Wexit is registered.

On their online survey from the panel we were given the separation option as the panel members said they had to include that question because they heard it asked so many times.

As for provincially the FC are trying to get all parties in support of separation to join together.

Have fun with Natural Disasters.   You won't have the army or firefighters from other provinces to help New Albertastan.

Pretty sure Alberta would create it's own military. As for wildfires I'm sure we can cover those who came to help and I guess by your logic we won't help BC anymore.

Btw the US and Russia offered help for Fort McMurray, Trudeau said no. Just saying other countries offer assistance. Strange you didn't know countries do this.

this is the part that disgusts me. Alberta has prospered greatly in the Canadian system. If they did the sensible thing and had even a small PST of 2% they'd save themselves a lot of grief. But the mythology has taken root,  there may be no going back now. Isolationism never solves anything but if you're correct thats what they want.

Some of us don’t agree with your take on how well AB has done under eastern rule. You spend a lot of time defending your line of thought but I cannot agree anymore.

How about the rest of Canada does the sensible thing and stops taxing the heck out if their citizens in order to fund socialism?

Well lets look at some facts then, lets begin with income: Albertans have the highest salaries don't they? man that must be a burden.

How about you do the sensible thing since you hate our healthcare and social democracy and go live in America where you can then whine about paying for everything you take for granted here?  Love to see you complaining about our healthcare while declaring bankruptcy in what you claim is afar super system to what you claim is our communist socialist lazy freeloader system.

Your schtick has gotten so very, very old.  At least King of the ES kept up to date in his trolling

well, you and I will have to fight and eventually agree on whats "socialism" vs sensible social programs. The every man for himself thing is another myth, capitalist societies have never actually been that way.

I think its a distraction to say something is socialism, when sometimes it just makes the most economic sense to do something via governments ability to obtain an economy of scale that individual companies could never do. Do you care more about the label of capitalism vs socialism or do you care about whats done in the most effective way?

To me there is a social safety net government provides for those citizens who truly need help.  The more services a government tries to provide beyond that safety net, the more bureaucracy eats away at the dollars collected, and reduces the services.

I actually think Alberta would thrived a lot more without Canada. Ottawa policies and decisions over the years have hurt Alberta.

Yes they do. Incomes based on a finite resource that belongs to the people of AB. I understand your criticism of past AB governments spending and management. I am sure that if the oil industry was still healthy that the Wexit movement would not exist. I wouldn’t agree but most people, including Albertans simply want to live their lives. I have never agreed with equalization and I think Peter Lougheed caved into easterners. When all the oil is gone easterners will not give a crap about Alberta.

Maybe Alberta shouldn't have mismanaged the one resource of their banana republic. To go from over 20% royalties to just over 5% is a large factor in the financial state they're in. Alberta was screwed over by their own government along with the powers out east. That and that one resource is an inferior product these days to what the US pumping out in record numbers.
