[Updated-Report] Canucks place Sven Baertschi on Waivers

Recommended Posts

Hopefully he gets a home somewhere. People say he played soft but coming off a concussion you gotta imagine he needed to get his feet wet a little bit. Ferland jumped right back into the action (throwing tons of hits and being physical) coming off a concussion look where he’s at. I truly believe he’s NHL level talent with the right fit and given the opportunity.

Agreed, he could still fit in on our 3rd line and 2nd PP unit in my opinion

Can't see Ferland and Stecher being protected. Maybe Tryamkin if he needs protection and maybe a surprise like Kole Lind gets protected if he continues to progress. Maybe Motte.

I can see us exposing Beagle and Roussel because if they do get taken, then that frees up cap space and we will have replaceable depth when that time comes. Funny that Eriksson is a notable exposure. Of course there's the whole Marky situation that will need to play out.

Stecher won't be protected and with how things are with Ferly there will be no need too either. The biggest omission is Markstrom, can NOT see JB not resigning the guy. Thought I read or heard somewhere that Marky doesn't want to be exposed for the expansion draft...anyone else heard that by chance?

I like the strides Lind has made this year, hope he continues to progress

Yupp I thought it was on HNIC. Friedman's words I believe, so credible.

I'll update the title

Another chance for teams to take him for free to prove to Sven's side the value he has. Good luck Sven.

People can stop with the idea that JB is asking too much for him. All we want is to dump his cap without giving up assets nor have to retain cap in the trade.

Why does he need to go on waivers tho? he played 6 games and wasn't on nhl roster for 30 days?

Handshake agreement by a team saying they will pick him up maybe...

To prove to his agent that he has no trade value.  Teams can reset the waiver clock earlier if they wish.
